What To Do When God Gives You An UNBELIEVEABLE Word

I went for Midweek service on Wednesday February 10th 2016 at DCC and God gave me an unbelievably delicious Word.
The Word was so UNBELIEVEABLE, I only told my brother at first because I didn’t even know who to tell that would believe it!
I was having a hard time believing it myself but I knew it was God because there was no way I could have thought it up all by myself.
I had walked into that service not even thinking unto the angle of what He said.

So when He gave me the Word, I laughed and cried and laughed and thanked God and laughed… you know the feeling you get when God gives you YOUR WORD.
All was good and I wrote it in my journal, but then the days passed and the tendency to analyze the Word became real.
I mean, my thoughts (understanding) was like how will this be done???
I was led to reach someone and when I reached her I was simply crying as the tall order of #faith I felt God had attached to the word was simply incredulous.
And as we talked, I knew why God had led me to her. She had the exact type of testimony God wanted to give me.
We spoke and my eyes dried off with a fierce determination to see my Father work His magic again with me.

I was praying the following week when in my heart I was like, “Lord give me a Word in the Bible to correspond with this”.
I was in the bathroom afterwards when I just started hearing “and Sarah laughed!”.
Me too I laughed out loud in the bathroom (I know right? The way this Christian life is ehn, if you aren’t careful people will think you’re mad because the convos you have with the Spirit are just sooooo sweet).
So the Spirit kept saying “and Sarah laughed”.
Looool.
I got out from the bathroom after I was done and whipped out my Bible.

So let’s learn together dears, just incase God has given you an outrageously delicious Word too and you don’t know what to do about it.

So in Genesis 17 we see God appearing to Abraham and making a covenant with him to bless him, make him the father of nations and give him a son.
Hold up!
Abraham was so flabbergasted at this news, he laughed and instead pushed Ishmael to God.

Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said to himself, “Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?”
And Abraham said to God, “Oh that Ishmael might live before you!””

And God was like, “let me repeat myself, I nor put water for mouth when I said what I said”.

God said, “No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him. As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I have blessed him and will make him fruitful and multiply him greatly. He shall father twelve princes, and I will make him into a great nation.
But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this time next year.”
When he had finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.”
Genesis 17:17-22 ESV

As I got to “when God had finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham…”
I laughed.
It seemed like He just dropped it like it’s hot and He bounced!
Classic God!
So He just came in, dropped the Word like He was even boasting about it…hehe.
But of course nah!
Our God is a God who delights in turning the seeming impossibilities to possibilities.
God cannot give you a Word that would be easy to do… what glory would that bring Him?
He does His things with a flourish, in style, one that people would see and be going down in praises to Him!

And see the way He bounced after He said what He said?
That’s how He expects us to behave too.
He knows who He is and what His word means and He expects us to do the same too.
When He says “I will do this for you” He expects you to take it as it is, and bounce in praises because it’s as good as done.

That was how Abraham received the Word because after He laughed, we know Romans 4 still tells us that “he called the things that be not as though they are!”
He believed God in faith!
So let’s go to how Sarah received the Word.

“Where is Sarah, your wife?” the visitors asked.
“She’s inside the tent,” Abraham replied.
Then one of them said, “I will return to you about this time next year, and your wife, Sarah, will have a son!” Sarah was listening to this conversation from the tent.
Abraham and Sarah were both very old by this time, and Sarah was long past the age of having children. So SHE LAUGHED silently to herself and said, “How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master—my husband—is also so old?”
Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh?
Why did she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord ? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
-Genesis 18:9-14 NLT
Haha!
This was what the Spirit was ringing in my head but He wanted me to see it from another angle.
Sarah laughed in disbelief and later laughed in joy.
God wanted me to skip the disbelief part and go straight to laughing in joy!
Why?

Because this is what happens when God says a thing…

The Lord kept his word and did for Sarah exactly what he had promised. She became pregnant, and she gave birth to a son for Abraham in his old age. This happened at just the time God had said it would.”
-Genesis 21:1-2 NLT
I must confess that the above passage thrilled me so much… so much!

It says God did as He had said at EXACTLY the time He said He would do so.
God was so specific about what He said.. He said “this time next year!”.
Oh my!
Who is as excited as I am?

Basically God’s Word to us today is “when I give you a word, skip the laughter in unbelief and move unto the laughter in joy!
Skip to the part of seeing it happen and call it into existence!

It’s a beautiful thing we do, this our walk with God.
I don’t know how many of us are waiting for that outrageously delicious Word to come to pass.
It’s outrageous because it’s simply unbelieveable!
I mean, you feel like “How can God promise that, there’s no steps to it being done!
But it’s also delicious because your Spirit leaps for joy…like “would God really do this?”
Well…yes He would!
And at exactly the time He said He would do so!!!

So sit back and relax and watch God do what He wants to do with you.
He always does His things with a flourish and this will be no different.
Relax, keep the faith and keep laughing in joy.
It’s done.
That’s God’s Word to me.
And I hope it’s for someone too.
Prayer:
Lord help me to hold on in faith to your Word.
I believe it.
I believe you.
And like Sarah, everone who hears this thing with me will laugh with me soonest.
Thank you Lord!
Thank you Jesus!

I gotta run.
Was rushing to post this as we have light issues, battery low.

Have you got a Word on this issue on how to hold on and believe God’s Word too?
Drop it on the comment section below… let’s band together as believers and draw strength from each other.

Till our next online Bible study,
Love,
Frances.

?? I have joy in my heart today, all of this is because of you. I have peace that no man can take, all of this is because of you!???
??Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness, my God, that is who you are!!!?????

Remember, our God doesn’t do small things. Which means that if He’s going to use us, we must conquer fear and do the big things He has placed in our hearts!

    I’m excited for you babe.
Sometimes, my mind can’t understand why He has chosen me to be used, but I remain grateful.

May lines fall for us in pleasant places!

Has God said a thing and will he not do it? We just need the grace to keep looking at the WORD and not our world.

    Thanks for this babe..
Sometimes unbelief delays and postpones the testimony if one does not grab on to God’s promise, praise and thank him and regard it as done except if God shows mercy and ignores our disbelief like he did to Sarah.
