What Are You Known For?

Here They are...

Here They are…

When we hear names Like;
Babatunde Osotimehin;
Ben Carson;
Phillip Emeagwali;
Zuriel Oduwole;
Mo Abudu;
Folorunsho Alakija;
Oby Ezekwesili;
Maya Angelou;
Gani Fawehinmi;
Chimamanda Adichie…

We automatically register their names with what we know they stand for.
Without anyone telling us(except you live under a rock) we know what they did/are doing to leave their mark on this Earth.
And That’s all good and lovely,they inspire us.

But,let’s bring it closer to home right now;
When your name is called,what do people associate you with?
What are you known for in your circle of influence?

Ok!
You buy and possess the latest designer handbags and shoes.
You are pretty fashionable and win the best dressed female where ever you are.
You drink like a fish and you buy free drinks for all your Friends.
Your phones are the latest smartphone/tab there is…

So when I ask someone about you,they go;
“Oh,Frances? I know that girl,she dresses really well”…And what?
Err,nothing more??

Oya google Josephine Obiajulu Odumakin right now.
What do you see there?
How is she described?
Do you see anything about the kind of phone she uses?
Do you see anything about the clothes she wears?

So come on!!
Why will you want to be known for only the Peruvian/Indian hair you fix on your hair?
Why will you want to be described by only your designer jeans and so-called swag?

Its time to shake yourself up Dear.
Its time to revamp your thinking.
Its time to live like you are meant to add something to this world like you are indeed meant to do.
Its time to prove that you are not an empty vessel.
its time to prove that you are alive for a reason!

A reason bigger than clothes and shoes!
A reason bigger than a perfectly made up face and seemingly handsome face.

Improve yourself and determine to be the one you are meant to be.
You are the Salt and Light of this World.
Without you the World should know that something’s missing and I am pretty sure that we won’t miss your shoes or your phones.Lots of people have that.

But there is something you have that no one else has.
Its peculiar to just you…
Your Talents/gifts!
Use it!
Develop it!
Make an impact!
Leave a mark!
Do not leave this World the same way you found it.

I do not want to leave this world the same way I came into it.
I do not want to be known only as the pretty girl with the briefcase.
I want to be known for something good and something godly.
I want get to Heaven at the end of my life and say;
“Father,I used it all! I gave of all you deposited into me;
I made the mark you wanted me to make;
I left a trail for others to follow.”

Pls join me.
Pls join others that are striving to give of their talents to make this world better.

You’got all the talents you need.
(See my post on talents here- http://imperfectlyperfect92.wordpress.com/2013/10/07/)

You have it all in you.
Don’t hold back yourself.
Your being small does not serve this World.
Use it all and shine forth the light in you.

I’ll see you at the top.
Have a splendid day people!
