“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.”
-John 12:24 NKJV
I have been familiar with this principle for a while. If you read my post about how God asked me to let my dreams – the dreams He gave me die here then you would realize how this principle has been in operation in my life through the years.
In the year 2015 the Lord placed a desire in my heart to reach teens and youths in Ghana through my NGO – AYSCAFRICA. BUT it didn’t come to pass till the year 2018. Through those years the Lord had me bury those dreams, lay them down and chose JESUS. I had to make decision over JESUS and the promises He had made me. Three years after I did that, The Lord began to stir my heart to believe again and boooya! In less than one week Ghana was done!
It took me a while to get to believe again but the principle of death and resurrection was at work.
What is the principle of death and resurrection?
THIS IS THE PRINCIPLE OF RESURRECTION?
DEATH:
“Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.””
-Genesis 22:1-2 NKJV
RESURRECTION:
“Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the Angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” So he said, “Here I am.” And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”
Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. And Abraham called the name of the place, The- LORD -Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”
Then the Angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son — blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” So Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.”
-Genesis 22:9-19 NKJV
THE PRINCIPLE OF DEATH AND RESURRECTION states that a man may be required by God to give a thing, a desire, a want, a promise that even God may have made you- as a matter of fact? HE USUALLY asks for the promises He has made you, the ones He placed on your heart, that you hold on to because HE SAID IT! And then He says GIVE IT! Give it back to me and lay it on the altar… but what is really happening in that moment?
“By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son, of whom it was said, “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.”
-Hebrews 11:17-19 ESV
From the above scripture we see that what was really happening was a TESTING.
God is not a wicked Father. He is not one who delights in taking from us but in GIVING TO US. And so He makes us promises even when we DO NOT ask for them; He gives us GOOD THINGS even when we don’t deserve it so Abraham had a WISDOM about this situation; wait… if God is asking me to give this son – this promised son of whom He said Nations would spring from, then his son will not really die or even if he does, God would raise him from the dead. And the Bible says THAT WAS EXACTLY what happened in a figurative sense.
By the time Isaac rose up from that altar he was a different boy BOTH in Abraham’s heart and in his own heart. He now knew I am a seed unto God and not unto my earthly Father. But the thrilling thing was how God turned it ALL AROUND and restored life!
Come on!
Out of that one act of death cake a promise for multitudes! Came God swearing that see, I will do more than I said before when you were holding on to just this boy!
THE PRINCIPLE OF DEATH AND RESURRECTION IS ACTUALLY THE PRINCIPLE OF MULTIPLICATION!
“…unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.”
Jesus was clear: hug it alone and it remains just ONE! Release it and let it die and it MULTIPLIES!
You chose!
. . .
What does this have to do with relationships and marital desires you ask?
Well, sometimes like God asked me to surrender the promises He made to me of the Nations, He May also ask you to surrender your desire for a husband or a wife THAT HE PROMISED YOU.
You think: but God! This thing was what YOU SAID to me! And He says “let it go…”
You must understand that He isn’t cheating you out of nothing… HE IS FOR YOU. – AND A GOOD GOOD FATHER!
He has looked at the previous promises and wants to multiply it! So He says let’s teach her or him the principle of how this can multiply… ask her to lay it down and let’s see if she will…
Here is where the struggle comes in BECAUSE IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE!
But YOU MUST quickly come to the wisdom Abraham has about this situation, if God asks me to lay this down, then it is because He wants to do more than the first promise could ever have done.
It is so hard and sometimes the desire won’t leave but it’s as simple as saying “Lord that deal I have with you on my marriage, you take it and do with it as you will. I let him/her go.., I let the timing go… you do as you will with me…”
I can tell you that this is death; BUT IF YOU WOULD let promptly like Abraham did? You will receive your dead back from the life in multiple folds.
GOD IS FAITHFUL and the principle of death and resurrection works even with marital desires.
