#Purposeful Living Christian Weightloss

The Power Of I Can…

I did mention on this post (see here:- http://imperfectlyperfect92.wordpress.com/2013/09/23/ ) that I’ve been trying to lose some unwholesome pounds I have packed on over the years.
I also talk about my weightloss journey on my PM on BBM sometimes.
Those on this journey know that it is good for accountability sake.

I had a conversation with someone that arose from one of such weightloss Pms and it sparked both fire and brimstone in me(in a good way)

He said;- “Right from the first time he knew me,I have always been fat and that I will always be fat,and I shouldn’t bother with all the exercise stuff I do”

Huh???
The guy obviously has never heard of the quote by Joel osteen_”If you cannot be positive then at least be quiet”

He also said that;-“I should stop deceiving myself,I CANNOT DO IT”…

Now,I could have gone raving mad at him but I was smiling throughout this conversation.

You wonder why right?

Now,like me,you may also have a dream that you are hoping will be a reality soonest.
Be it starting that business;
Getting that first class;
Writing that book;
Becoming that World renowed artist;
Or simply loosing a few pounds like me…

You really,really wish that your dream can come alive…
But guess what?
No one else believes that you can do it.
Everyone else laughs in your face and tells you that YOU CAN’T!
They ask you; “who are you kidding? Shut up and sit your “bom-bom” back down where you belong”…
And funny enough,their words seem to make sense to you.

The only thing worse than all they say is that you believe them too!

And this was the reason why I smiled throughout the above conversation I had with that person.
Who are you really to tell me what I can/cant do??
You aren’t God,and you aren’t me.
How come you know better than the owner of my life?

My God says I can do ALL things through Christ that streghtenent me.
So how does your opinion factor into the matter?

The only thing worse than someone else telling you you can’t,is yourself telling yourself that you can’t(I hope that makes sense)
Their saying you can’t doesn’t really mean a thing till you say you can’t too.

So what are you saying to yourself?

Encouragements and discouragements can give you the same results.
Both can spur you on to achieve what you want.
When someone,anyone at all tells you you can’t,turn right and tell them; I CAN! Just you sit down and watch me!

Say it;
Believe It;
And Work Towards It!

I was so grateful to God I had that conversation with that person the other day.
God blesses us in strange ways.
I was in dire need of motivation and He sent it my way.

There is no guarantee that you’ll never get discouragements from people.
As a matter of fact,as long as you have a dream,you’ll always get the “you can’t(s)”
What you can do is to Use the you can’t(s) as your fuel to make you achieve what you want.
Use it to spur you on to greater heights.

Perfect the art of turning the “You Can’t’s” to I CAN!
You’ll need it for a very long time to come.

And thank those that tried to discourage you when you get to the mark.
They did you a great favour.
They spurred you on with their words.
So please do not be an ingrate.
They deserve lots of gratitude from you.

Have a great week people!

PS:This is my last week to rest before Nigerian Law School(NLS) resumes so I am gonna cherish it like crazy!
And abeg,I’ll be putting weightloss aside “small” too,I need to eat Banga soup with fresh fish made in Delta style before leaving.hehhhe.

Hastalavista dearies!
