Dear single lady,
Today I want to tell you a story and I hope that we all learn a bit from it.
I would have gotten married about 3years ago if I had agreed for a certain banker.
He was nice, kind and didn’t drink alcohol.
He said he liked me.
I was young, fresh, had a beautiful smile and a free spirit.
We met in a Bank.
He told me he wasn’t playing games, he didn’t want me for wanting sake, he wanted to settle down and even had plans to move into his own house, ofcourse with his wife – me(if I would agree)
I thought about it for a bit, I didn’t really pray about it because… well, because I didn’t really know that God was so interested in my marital story then.
But still, I said no, I felt like I still had a lot to know and learn in my single life and 3years later, I see that I was indeed right. I still have a lot to learn in this single life. God hasn’t released me into the next phase yet, He is still working in me and teaching me certain things.
What things you ask?
Well, He only showed me last year that every marriage is actually meant to show forth His purpose for both of the couples, #Ministry
He only just showed me that my relationship with my spouse is only a reflection of my marriage with Him.
And He is also just showing me that I don’t have to look all sunken and depressed because I don’t have a man.
I can learn from Him, build my character, develop myself, engage in things I love and milk dry this single phase of all He has for me.
Last year, I did this post where I talked about my visit to Olumo Rock.
It was a goal I had for myself for 2014 to go somewhere alone as a single lady and start seeing places.
Well, this year, it is also a goal but I took it a bit farther when I saw a post talking about how to travel in 2015.
I am taking a challenge of seeing 12 places I have never been to before in 2015.
One for each month and I am throwing it open to everyone of the single ladies who said that they “wished they could be that adventurous… Well, this is an opportunity for you to turn the “wishes” into “I can”.
You want to make something of your life as a single lady?
See places? Travel? Here is a chance for us to do it together.
Now, you don’t have to break a bank to do this, I googled Ekiti State where I am right now and saw close to 10 tourist centres.
Same with Ibadan that is close to me.
So if you don’t have too much, look around you where you are right now.
And some of us will say that we don’t have time but one day during the weekend in one month isn’t too much is it?
I thought to throw this open to us all.
I am going to do it and of course feature each of my trip on the blog.
If you want to share your trip and pictures with us here on the blog too, you are welcome, I will publish them.
The goal of this is to debunk every claim that a single lady must definitely be a miserable lady.
You don’t have to cry at the lack of a man in your life.
Let’s use this time for some things we can look back at and smile fondly at shall we?
Yes!
Yes we can do it!
Give me a high five in the comment section below if you are in… 🙂
Just A Few Things…
Nkykate didn’t get to me so we’ve got our new blog giveaway winner of the ankara diary as announced in the last post.

I wrote my goals for 2015 on Olatoxic’s blog here  and I want my writing on this blog to be with purpose for the year 2015 so I just took some time off to brainstorm and all.The blog plans will be up tomorrow. Stay tuned! 🙂

January 10, 2015 at 11:52 amOk den! lets try this. Maybe not 12 but ill stop pouting about kaduna and explore.
saw your post on olatoxic’s 30days of hope and visited this site and I’ve been trying to catch up on your previous posts. nice writing i must say especially the one about cooking not defining women. Also nice that this is christian blog, don’t usually follow blogs like this but with my new year resolution being getting closer to God i said ok then ill need all the help i can get, if i can spend hours on circular blogs sure i can start somewhere with christian blogs.
Frances Okoro
January 10, 2015 at 12:00 pmWelcome, welcome Olawumi! 🙂
And I agree with you about starting somewhere with Christian blogs..on days when I don’t even feel like spending time with God, the emails I get of blog notifications and stuff on my timeline always spur me on, it’s important.
I pray you experience a great relationship with God this year and if God will use my blog to help, then it’s all great…
And yes oh, no more pouting..explore we will 🙂

January 10, 2015 at 12:54 pmI think someway somehow, you’re trying to push me out of my comfort zone thing about traveling…hehe. It has been a childhood dream to travel far and wide but I get so scared sometimes wondering if I can do it. It’s almost like jumping off a cliff or something which is dangerously exciting..lool. But like you mentioned, start with somewhere close to you. Even if it’s once a month. But how do I check up places in lagos that I can go? I do hope I have time though since I was posted to a hospital.
Thanks for the travel site too. It’s something to bookmark. I like it already 🙂
And I read your post on Ola’s blog too. 😉 Wow so much to do. Bonne chance cherie. Thanks the ginger.

January 10, 2015 at 2:26 pmI am loving your blog and I don’t want to leave. You write so well with passion and love for the message you are passing across. I have to study but I am stuck just camping and catching up on all the posts I have missed. Before I read this particular post, something stirred in my heart and it is my hope that when I am in Nigeria next. I will love to meet you in person, a road trip to Ekiti doesn’t sound like a bad
idea.
