Reintroduction To The Person And Character Of Jesus

Hi guys!

I hope you have all had an amazing week so far…

For me, I am in a place where I am trying to readjust in a place God led me to that I still haven’t been able to make sense of yet.

I shared with my TWTW Sisters  on some of God’s dealings with me in this season. I don’t think that I am quite there yet to be able to share on the blog.

My next personal memoirs post will be titled “Oceans’.

Again, I feel like I am walking on water.

Sometimes it is cool to just free fall into God’s arms and sometimes, the panic attacks I get can be rivaled with no other.

But a beautiful thing have come out of this season of my life; I am being reintroduced to the character and person of Jesus again.

You know, sometimes we get in a rut with God.

We think that we now know Him so well, His character doesn’t freak us anymore.

So we hear that “Jesus loves you” and somehow, it has become just a phrase to us.

When we hear that He will never leave us or forsake us, it sounds like something we just sing of and forget…

So sometimes, God throws us into places where different aspects of His character and behavior become life and light to us again.

Today, I will share a few of the passages and character traits of God that I have been reintroduced to all over again…

(1) The Lord Never Forsakes His Own:

“For the strength of the wicked will be shattered,

but the Lord takes care of the godly.

Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent,

and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever.

 They will not be disgraced in hard times;
even in famine they will have more than enough.”

-Psalm 37:17-19

So I was in a place where I was worried about who will take care of me. How will I survive in this place you are sending me to…bla bla bla.

And as I camped out afresh on Psalm 37, again the truth of this my God being one who takes care of me came washing me from my head to my toe.

Like, yes my Daddy sits in the heavens above but He is also the one who takes care of His babies…me inclusive.

So I could walk freely down the road in the knowledge that He who holds me will never let my feet slip out of His grasp.

And down to what I will eat, He will take care of it.

(2) I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
    or their children begging bread.”

-Psalm 37:25

I had a stint with Psalm 37 where I was reading it multiple times in a day…I read till it sank in that my God..my Father can never forsake His own. It has never and will never be in His DNA to do that.

I rested easy when this filtered through… and my heart was put at rest from the anxieties that were threatening to drown me.

(3) For the Lord God is our sun and our shield.
He gives us grace and glory.
The Lord will withhold no good thing
from those who do what is right.”

-psalm 84:11

And I love this third and final one I am sharing today.

When my desires seem to overwhelm me, I take them all and go back to God with them and He gives me Psalm 84.

There was a time when I would wake up in the morning with the Spirit telling me that truth… that you see Frances, no good thing would your Father  withhold from you.

 NO GOOD THING!

I have other scriptures that I am holding onto in this time that just reveals Jesus’ character and person afresh to me but I don’t want to bombard you guys.

If you are in a “somehow” place right now, ask God for His word that will reveal afresh who He is in that situation to you.

Issues of health: look for scriptures that shows you Jesus is your healer.

Issues of protection: look for scriptures that reveal Jesus as your shield.

Broke: let Him be revealed to you as your self-sufficiency again.

God is not a man. He never lies or casts a shifting shadow and when you are held firmly in His arms…letting the reality and knowledge of who He is wrap you, you can rest easy and your heart will be still.

Prayer:

Lord we ask that you reveal yourself to us again.

Let us know You afresh in every situation of our lives. Show up in your glorious way..the way only you can do. And bring us into a deeper knowledge of who you are, in Jesus name we have prayed, amen.

I would also love to hear from you.

What aspect of the character and person of Jesus have you been reveling in lately?

Do please share with us in the comment section below.

Till our next #OnlineBibleStudy,

Love,

Frances

Thank you for this study. I read it and began to wonder what aspect of Himself is He revealing to me, at first i felt i had no answer, till i minimized the screen and the bible passage i opened earlier showed, I have been reading Galatians, it is not by works that i got saved, so subconsciously it seems i have been trying to use my works to please Him, days when i miss my prayer or study i feel so bad and carry that guilt all day instead of simply running to Him for grace.

So, I can say He’s been telling me to rely on Grace but i just didn’t realize it.

Today on my way to work, i was thinking within me, is it that hard to seek God, what am i doing wrongly that i haven’t found Him, counting the number of times have told Him i want to be serious with Him and it seems like i take charge of my life again.

Ps: seems the study is getting shorter, not as lengthy as before.

      Grace… mercy.

This is a subject that would take so long to unravel.
But they are aspects of God’s character that leaves us in tears when we fully experience it.

I pray you get into what God wants to teach you concerning Him Mide, that the truth of it wraps you securely in God’s arms, in Jesus name,a men

PS: Never knew anyone loved the length of studies. Kong story on why this one is so short, didn’t know I would be caught.
As God gives us grace to do, more oncoming 🙂
      Thanks dear

Thanks for the study, for me I’m learning that He’s always there in my times of need, Ps 46:1 ‘God is my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble’

When my heart and strength fails me, God is the strength of heart and my portion forever. (Psalm 73: 26).

Love is ever present and Love is too in love with us to leave us stranded or without reassurances at times and points where we really need it.
