Hiiiiiiii loves!
How do I begin to explain my absence to you all?
First of all, I AM SORRY.
I am so so so so so so sorry.
I had no intention to go off line like I did, as a matter of fact, I was contemplating not going for a conference just so that I could finish the book by July 6th as planned…. and that was where it all began.
This isn’t our normal #OnlineBibleStudy but hey, the Word is the basis for all I do so let’s plug it in here shall we?
On wednesday July 1st 2015, I suddenly had a thought to not go for an NCCF conference I had been looking forward to to refresh my soul, just so that I could put finishing touches to the book and get it ready before monday July 6th.
And immediately I had that thought in my mind, I knew it was wrong.
I pinged Mobolaji and just thought out loud about what I am supposed to do and we both agreed that GOD IS GREATER THAN HIS GIFTS.
The next morning during my quiet time I was spoken to by Mary and Martha’s story in Luke 10:38-42.
I read it in both the NLT version and the MSG version and will share the MSG version here with some notes from my jotter (you realize that I have moved from explaining my absence to a Bible study ba? Stick with it oh, I am sharing it for myself and for us all when we need it)
Luke 10:38-42
“As they continued their travel, Jesus entered a village. A woman by the name of Martha welcomed him and made him feel quite at home. She had a sister, Mary, who sat before the Master, hanging on every word he said. But Martha was pulled away by all she had to do in the kitchen. Later, she stepped in, interrupting them. âMaster, donât you care that my sister has abandoned the kitchen to me? Tell her to lend me a hand.â … The Master said, âMartha, dear Martha, youâre fussing far too much and getting yourself worked up over nothing. One thing only is essential, and Mary has chosen itâitâs the main course, and wonât be taken from her.â
Now, notice that both Mary and Martha welcomed Jesus into their home – they weren’t unbelievers, they had welcomed Jesus into their hearts just like us.
But sometimes, even when we have let Jesus into our hearts, we still get distracted by other things like Martha was.
Distracted by good things – preparing dinner and writing books for God.
Placing things that are inconsequential when placed side by side with Jesus – food – work – business – ministry, over Jesus.
Who gave us all those things in the first place?
God.
So isn’t it amazing that we even think to place them above Him?
Why would I even think to forego sitting at Jesus’s feet and learning of Him just because I was writing a book for Him?
So silly!
There is a time for working for Jesus and a time for sitting at Jesus’s feet and when both clashes, it shouldn’t even be a choice. Sitting at Jesus’s feet must win.
Jesus actually says only one thing is essential. And it’s not the big dinner – it’s not the book – it’s sitting at Jesus’s feet and hanging onto His every word like Mary did.
And the truth is, it’s a choice to be made. God won’t force us to make it.
Like He told Martha, you are just worried over things that don’t matter, but Mary has CHOOSEN what is important.
And I didn’t feel compelled to go to the conference, I just knew it was a choice to be made and I chose to place God first, over and above everything He placed in my hands to do.
As well as God wants me to fulfil purpose in Him, He wants me to never get it twisted.
He takes first priority, not working for Him.
It’s so easy to get it twisted and I am glad that God always draws me in with the Word, chastises me lovingly and tries His best to set me back on course.
After the conference I was again led to spend a week just “in the silence” and that was why I wasn’t online for a week plus.
I am so sorry about the postponement of the book release and I am sorry that I went off without warning.
I am not sorry that my spirit that is overflowing as a result of time spent with Jesus but I am sorry I got you all worried.
I think the lessons I have gotten from this book journey can even go into another book. Lol.
That is “Lessons learnt from writing a book for the kingdom”. I can save other Christian writers all the stress and mistakes – selfish ambition – maintaining a balance with God first – drawing strength from the Spirit..etc.
But that’s for later sha…maybe.
Thank you all for your love – your emails – twitter mentions – DMS, even calls from those who have my number.
I am fine and I appreciate the love.
So I also made a video to “bribe” you all to forgive my absence and also introduce my “warri speaking tongue to you all”.
Yes, I come bearing gifts!
So you want to see all my gestures with all the above words written on live? Watch the video at the end of this post 🙂
Btw, the video doesn’t include the little Bible study we just did but a thought came to mind on teaching Bible studies when I get my YouTube channel on.
Do we say yay?
Ok.
The YouTube channel will be set up before the book release date which is now on July 27th. Next two weeks monday.
I am praying that nothing derails it.
Please still pray along with me when you remember me /the book.
Next week I will talk about how the knowledge that this book isn’t about me was just laid on me.
It’s light – truth about sex according to the Word and dispelling the world’s view of sex and sexual addictions in the minds of people.
Please pray.
Please keep praying for me / for this scheduled book release.
Again, July 27th is the date now. Save it please 🙂
Thank you all so much.
All posts resume as usual on the blog from tomorrow’s Awakening youths category.
I love you all soooo much.
Frances.
P.S – Please give me feedback, did you all get your free chapter from the book?
The system is set up to send an email to you with the link to download it when you subscribe and I would love to know if it all went through so I can correct what is needed before the main book comes out.
Check your spam msgs too.
Thank you!
P.P.S – Watch the first blog vlog with my quirky smiles below and bear with the video quality, I had to compress the file so as to be able to upload it on wordpress 🙂
+ for those reading again, I apologize, video’s below now…
