It was a serious struggle for me to put up this post. My flesh was struggling with my spirit.
Today is going to be a very busy day for me and I wanted to just gloss over today’s online Bible study, but then it’s easy to lapse behind in writing again and again after doing it once.
And not doing this post would also mean that I can’t do the other posts I have scheduled because this is a background to a series of stuff I would be talking about later.
Also, maybe, just maybe someone out there needs this so I have to push above my laziness/excuses and get down to this.
Btw, part of my reluctance to write stems from the stress of publicizing this on social media. Tagging people is a very SERIOUS WORK to do.
Please, please, if you are not yet subscribed to my blog, enter your email in the box below to get notifications of post straight to your email, please help me to stop thinking about tagging people for posts.

Ok, let’s go on.
I have been going on and on about the will of God in my head recently. In fact, I spent my birthday this year praying for the will of God to be done in my life and a big part of my day was a message I recorded from my church, Redeem, the King’s Court, youth church the Oasis of which Nathaniel Bassey pastors.
Every time I listen to the sermon(it was a Bible Study on a certain wednesday) I really feel like sending it to everyone I know, but it’s just so large, it cannot go through mails.
So I thought, why not do a transcript of this message?
Most people(myself included) pray amiss for a whole lot of different things, we forget that there’s a perfect will of God for every aspect of our lives and personally, I want that more than any thing in my life, and hopefully, through Nathaniel Bassey’s words to us in this Bible Study, you will desire and want the will of God for your life much more than you want your desires for yourself.
Please stick with me on this, this will be my longest post yet on this blog but you will be blessed, I promise you that you will be blessed.
THE BIBLE STUDY
The Lord’s Prayer, focusing on may your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Nathaniel Bassey asked, what is a will?
Someone in church said, a will can be seen as a person’s desire, intention or plans.
Then someone gave a lawyer’s definition as, a will can be seen as someone’s wish in a document containing how his properties should be distributed when he is no longer living.
Then a will is a wish with a direction, one that you are doing something about and not just wishing it comes to be.
Pastor Nat explained why Bible study is so important, that we dig into the word like we don’t do on other days…(my own sidenote to you too to take this online Bible study seriously)
So let’s go on…
The word says “thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven”
Done in what? In heaven.
So the standard for the will to be done on earth is as it is done in heaven.
An example was given of his son who they went to get a visa for from the American embassy. Even though the embassy is in Nigeria, the laws of Nigeria don’t bind them.
So do you wonder why the Bible calls us ambassadors?
Just like the Americans who are here don’t live based on Nigerian economy, so also is the will of God on earth, the standard of the one in Heaven.
Now, a will is also a document.
It comes from the Greek word “thelema”, meaning “purpose”, decree”, “desire”, “pleasure”
Now, an important thing to note about the will is that it is a written document so if you don’t know the will already, you won’t know what you have a right over.
Now, how can we find the will of God?
In His word!
The word of God is the will of God.
The Bible is Jesus in print.
The first place to start enforcing the will of God on earth is to know the will, to get acquainted with the document.
Jesus says, that we must pray that the will of God be done.
Most times when you find the will of God, you find it in the context of prayer.
Now, you should first of all know the will of God.
So what are the things that we find in heaven that are in line with God’s will?
Is there bomb blast in heaven?
Now, there’s a scripture in Isaiah that says He has raised us up to build waste places, so one of God will is for what? For us to raise…
Another mighty example…
“I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth”- 3John 1:2
Now, we know that all word given in the Bible is given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
So, one of God’s wish/will for us is that we not just prosper in finance, we prosper also in soul.
Now how do we get this done?
Through prayer. (Matt 6)
This is how it works, you know the scripture, eg, 3John 1:2, so you come to God with the word.
God does not react to tears, eg, “Lord, people are dieing…”
What does the document, the testament say?
You go to God in prayers.
“Lord your word says that you wish above all things that I prosper, I don’t look like I am prospering…”
You bring His word back to Him and pray the will of God upon the earth.
Another will of God is in Jeremiah 29:11.
For I know the thoughts I think towards you, thoughts of Good and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope…
Now, let’s narrow this down.
The will of God isn’t just about the earth, THERE IS A WILL OF GOD FOR YOUR LIFE.
There is a will of God for your family.
There is a will of God for your career.
There is a will of God for your marriage….
Now, I don’t want you to be discouraged by the lenght, it’s not done yet but the best will be in the conclusion.
Just read the next post.
I will be putting it up right now…
