#Purposeful Living Maximizing Your Potential Series

Maximizing Your Potential || Write

“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”

-Revelation 21:5

If you read the above passage in a haste, then you would miss the all important word that makes all the difference in your maximizing the potential that God has put in you.

And that is:

WRITE!

Now, the one thing that people who are a weary are wary of doing.

When life seems to have beaten the fight out of your dreams, the last thing you want to do is dream again… but thankfully God steps in and says “behold I make all things new”, but you have got to WRITE”.

I spoke about how I was in the dregs for the better part of the year in the previous post; by dregs I mean being in a place where I wasn’t seeing God’s promises in my life coming to pass and so I became lax about the vision He had given to me. And one of the first things God said to me when He revived me again was “WRITE”.

The pull to write and put up my vision board was so strong.

I did not really understand it until I went to Habakkuk.

“And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by.”

-Habakkuk 2:2

I love this AMPLIFIED version. I just saw it now as I wrote.

See the reason for writing the vision?

It says so you and everyone will be able to read it easily and quickly even as you go by.

You have to keep the vision ever before your face.

As God reveals what He wants you to do, one way to maximize what He has put in you and not let it die is TO WRITE IT DOWN.

In the Kingdom, there is so much power in words.

Word infuse life into any situation and strengthens hearts to carry on even when everything seem bleak.

God knows this, so He says put the vision I have given you ever before your face.

See it as you hasten by, talk about it and speak it into the atmosphere as the days go by, in that way, you are infusing life with words into what I have put in you.

You will also notice  the kind of vision that the Lord asks Habakkuk to write, it’s the vision that the Lord has given you, not your own ambition or mind leading you on.

You see, God uses our potentials, gifts He has put in us to accomplish what He wants us to do for Him and as you use those gifts, talents and potentials, you maximize them and in so doing become the first two servants in Matthew 25 so more can be added unto you.

As you GO TO WORK with your potentials and run with the vision, you maximize them and expand day by day and pretty soon, what will come out of it will shock even you.

But first WRITE.

So we have seen that the vision to write is God’s vision for you, so how do you get this vision?

Let’s see what Habakkuk said about this…

“I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guardpost. There I will wait to see what the LORD says and how he will answer my complaint.”

-Habakkuk 2:1

Climbing up to your watchtower and staying at your post may mean a period of separation where you wait on God for Him to give you eyes that see concerning His vision for your life.

If you have a complaint about the potentials and gifts in you.. you do not know how to bring them to fore in doing what God has told you to do, then climb up your watchtower also.

Take it up in prayer and wait on the Lord for what He will say to you.

And as He speaks WRITE.

I wrote my vision board in October (that was when my new year/new thing started) but recently had to move and leave it back at home again and I almost relapsed into being “just there”.

And God told me “you have to go back and recommit to it again, almost like starting afresh again.

Keep it – what you write before your eyes continually”.

He said have you perceived the new things? Do you have them written down?

Do you anticipate them?

Do you confess them?

Do you expect them to see them come to pass and be a reality?

He said go back again, WRITE THE VISION (REVELATION).

I believe God is wiser than me and when He shows this kind of step I get on it fast and I saw the difference almost immediately.

I posted what I wrote in my room, woke up early to lay my hands on it and declare into each day and I just had such a faith pump every time I looked at it.

So just so we don’t just read this series but implement it, we will be having ACTION STEPS per week

For this week, we have just one thing to do:

(1) WRITE.

Go back and write the vision again.

It may seem like a little thing but it isn’t.

And before you write, ask the Lord to give you eyes that see so you see with His sight and assessment of your potential and not yours.

If you need help, encouragement, etc, feel free to holla at me. Iam at okorofrances@gmail.com.

Till next week on this series,

Love,

Frances.

PS: Atilola has an amazing post on how to write your vision board,  it was really helpful to me.

You already know that my eyes shine any where I see ‘WRITE’. Lol.

I REALLY love this post. I love that you were not asking everyone to become a ‘writer’, but noted the importance of writing things down, especially revelations from God on one’s personal life. In any case, everyone can kuku write…

Thank you for the reminder. I have decided to write even more. God made me realize that my journals one day will not be for me but for someone in my generation who will read my notes from God and be hungry for more of Him…probably a grand child or whoever God will use them for…

    Thank you for writing.

That instruction to go back, recommit and start afresh is right for me. The year is almost over, BUT praise God it isn’t. God still wants to perform.

So, we shall write ANEW for God to perform (DO A NEW THING). Isn’t that beautiful? 🙂

Atilola’s post was such a blessing. I forgot to add the link to this post, will edit and do so.

Thanks Bisola. and putting the vision down does help immensely. Glad I am not the only one feeling the pull even at the end of the year. Others are wrapping up but we are milking 2016 dry.
