Forgive my fowl scratch handwriting…
The above screen shot was my prayer point in the year 2014 when I was about to graduate from Law School.
I sincerely wanted to work in a “big firm” where I would be earning big money.
I didn’t really know that I would be going into “Awakening Youths” for real then… I just knew that it was a part of what God wanted me to do but really didn’t take it too seriously.
What was the next thing to be done after Law School?
It’s simply for me to get a job and work and earn big money.
Right?
NO!
And God showed me just how big of a NO that answer was.
First, I wasn’t posted to Lagos for NYSC, I was posted to Ekiti State.
God had thankfully arrested my desires and tuned them to His own by then.
I had listened to Pastor Nat speak on the “will of God” and so surrendered a blank page for God to write on it.
And where has this blank page led me to now?
Well, it has led me to two books being written with one to more to be released soon…
A blog being turned into a writing ministry for Jesus…
Seminars in schools being turned into a full blown NGO based on raising up girls (and youths) of purpose for God…
And a life being trained to “come up higher” in the Spirit…
Well, the above are just the things that spilled out from the hard nights and tears.
Let’s go into what that blank page I gave to Jesus has really led me to…
It has also led me to days of tears and days of lack…
Days when I wish I took the easy way out, sent out my CV to work at a firm and forget about following what God has placed in my heart to do.
It has led me to days when I see the plans God has for me but I have to #wait and follow His blue print of being trained…
It has led me to lonely days… days when I cry when I’m asked “so what will you do for money?”
It has led me to days when I sit and think “I feel it in my bones that there is MORE out there God has for me, but I am HERE where I don’t seem to see or take what MORE there is out there”.
Days of confusion…where I have no friend to talk to because somehow my path is a lonely one… one where many people in today’s world don’t tread or are too scared to tread.
The path of walking in God’s purpose for our lives.
A sister in “the women at the well” group asked a question this past week on purpose and all I could really pin my reply down to was “only the strong and courageous walk in God’s purpose for their lives”.
Ever wondered why God repeated that phrase to Joshua multiple times?
Well, if you want to step out into what God has for you, you must of necessity strengthen your bones and gain some stamina because the road is a long, lonely, hard and tough one.
Only the strong and courageous in the Lord survive.
During our last single ladies hangout, I delved for a bit into speaking about purpose and it was just laid in my heart to start this series…
Most persons are confused about their purpose in life.
Most persons are scared to step out into what God has shown them to do…
Most persons have no support…
Most persons think that God would send them to places they don’t want to go if they surrender and ask Him to show them His will for their lives…
I have been in all the above situations and I’m still in some of those situations from time to time today.
I currently am not practicing Law as its not being laid in my heart to do that…
So I am working on my third book “Making A Difference With Your NYSC year”…
I am working on starting up my NGO “Awakening Youths Today” and getting it full blown into what God has said I should do…
I am working on getting approval to speak and sell my upcoming book at NYSC camps…
I am working on organizing the seminars for the first round of schools we’ll be going to this April/May…
I am working on plans to hold a discussion on purpose in Unilag soon… in June God willing…
Add “The Women At the Well” meetings to all these and basically I have a full plate on my hands…
Coupled with staying revved up in prayers and spending TIME with Jesus and in the Word because that is where I get stamina for the work God is showing me to do.
See how I reeled off the plans up there?
That’s how God reels them off to me… He does/say it like it’s a little thing (and it really is) but to my human mind they are plans so huge…plans that have me asking Him, “are you sure you are talking to me?”
Because there is nothing in my account that can fund all these plans and dreams…
Nothing in my own strength that will hold me up to achieve these dreams…
I am simply like one little frail girl who’d prefer to buckle under her blanket or under a simple 9-5 job and come home and sleep.
But I know that that life isn’t for me.
Even the job that is laid on my heart to do isn’t law related…
I’ve been in faith for an internship/job at LEAP Africa because they basically do what God is leading me to do and it would be a good training ground for me…
And you see this walk in purpose? It’s a FAITH walk through and through.
You use faith to get the finances…
You use faith to get the helpers…
You use faith to get what to eat…
You use faith to launch out into the deep after you’ve done the work He has told you to do…
You use faith to empty your account when God says so…
I’m baring my own personal walk in purpose on here because I want you to see that I understand…
Whatever concerns you have about walking in God’s purpose for your life, I get it because I have either been there or I am still there right now…
And what I aim to do with this series is to help you walk the path God has set before you.
I’d be doing this by addressing different aspects of “finding and walking in purpose” in this Month of March.
We’ll go from fear to finances…
From lack of confidence to issues with faith…
From even the first step of knowing what you are one earth for to walking in it…
By God’s grace, we’ll peel off layers on walking in purpose and get God’s words on them.
My prayer is that this series achieves it’s purpose in every life that reads each post in Jesus name, amen!
So have a purposeful week ahead,
Love,
Frances.
P.S:
Great news!
For the duration of this series (and I am thinking of doing this every monday of this year), one lucky person will win a FREE PDF copy of my book “10 Steps To Walking in Purpose”.
Simply retweet this post via the social media link below (I will be automatically tagged) and comment below).
I will pick one lucky winner per week.
My book basically answers lots of questions on purpose already and would be of great help to you.
You can also purchase my book on Konga HEREÂ and support this lady (they deliver to wherever you are in Nigeria).

March 7, 2016 at 10:58 pmThis was a needed post. Indeed, walking with Jesus is not an easy thing. It’s not even lip service.
The moment you profess that Jesus is your Lord and Savior, you will experience challenges that will make you question your faith! But I’m thankful that you are in tune to what God is saying at the moment.
Purpose…

March 8, 2016 at 5:57 amFrances I am really impressed with your decision to follow the will of God in your life… it really isn’t easy to follow through but I believe that God has your hand and He will never ever let go of it… All the best in walking in His purpose for that is really all that matters… I also wrote on this in The Woman called Mary! New post alert!

March 8, 2016 at 9:24 amBabes this has encouraged my heart in soooo many ways. God bless you love. Do not be weary of well doing for in due season you will reap your harvest if you faint not.
I recall speaking to a friend who just started her own Church when she spoke about not wanting to go into ministry as God had laid in wr heart because of her friends that has great jobs the following “Do a research on what your friends are earning and take it to your employer “God” saying Father you own the universe and since I work for you supply…….”
It sounds funny but God is a rewarded and No he is our Reward.
Lol Frances I am typing this for my self lol.
Love you darling

March 31, 2016 at 8:25 pmThanks so much for these. Only the truly courageous follow fully Gods plan for their lives. I’m currently and I know many are apart from me who are trying to follow Gods plan.
I haven’t summoin the courage to even inform those closest to me about his calling because I’m just too scared. I really need this, thanks for sharing
