I have been meditating a bit on what the words “Christ is risen, He is not here!” means to us (me).
I’ve just been turning it over and over in my mind, trying to place my finger on what these life-changing words mean for you and I as believers in Christ Jesus.
“I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
-Galatians 2:20 AMP
If we say that we have been crucified with Christ and we rose with Him, we are ultimately saying that we have taken upon His life as ours when we rose with Him.
He Is Risen!
He isn’t dead!
He isn’t here!
He has risen!
Have we risen with Him too?
Is His life ours now?
The life which we live, who do we live it for?
What does this mean for living a life of purpose in God?
I believe that it means one thing which can be subdivided into two things…
(1) Generally as a body, as God’s Church, our lives, the entirety of who we are is for God.
We live God.
We breathe God.
And we fulfill His general mandate for us all…
“Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).”
-Matthew 28:19-20 AMP
(2) He is risen means specifically for our individual lives that we live Christ, we breathe Christ, everything we do from our finances, jobs, relationships, stems from and is in Him… including His purpose for our lives.
Specifically, He is risen for us means that we throw down even our own desires and make His desires ours in the path of purpose.
The easiest way to explain this is to use examples from my own life…
For those who don’t know, I am a lawyer by profession. And like I said in the first post in this series, when I was in Law School, I already had my life planned… I wanted to serve in Lagos and earn a sizeable amount of salary…
That was my prayer point till I stepped into a Wednesday service where Pastor Nathaniel Bassey spoke on “The Will of God”.
And that message changed my life.
I realized that I had plans that weren’t really God’s plans for me…
I had desires that I didn’t double check to find out if it was God’s own desires for me…
And so I tore my list of desires, gave God a blank sheet and here I am today… walking a path that I never could have fore saw in the years gone by.
Just before I passed out from NYSC I attended NCCF Natonal conference where the theme was “the Kingdom of God”.
I kind of already knew that the entirety of my life had to be lived for Jesus as it was no longer I who lived but Him living in and through me but still, that conference wrecked me through and through.
I will share the video I filmed at the end of this post and you can read the words HERE.
I essentially realized that I cannot have my own mind in this walk with God, I must be dead through and through and let Him live through me in whichever means/area He wants to do it through me.
Now this point that I came to is the point where many are at today and scared…
They are scared about so many things…
What if God sends me to somewhere like Iran or Iraq?
Will I be able to go?
What if He leads down a journey where I will be broke and dry?
Maybe I should just stay put at this job I have right now and not bother about walking in God’s specific will for my life…
I know all about those questions, trust me I asked them too and in moments of doubts still ask them sometimes today…
But believe me, the life I live now, I wouldn’t have it no other way.
It’s such a joy to KNOW and live in the truth that I am EXACTLY where God wants me to be and He is sitting over my life and directing my paths right now.
He hasn’t sent me to Iraq yet but I am at a point in my faith walk and love walk with Him that there’s no turning back.
I’m willing to go anywhere He sends me and be Jesus’ hands and feet, even though I have to cry buckets and literally hold on to Him in faith as I do so.
Yes, I have signed all out to Him.
It wasn’t easy, BUT I realized that I wouldn’t have life any other way.
And guess what?
God didn’t give me something to do that I didn’t like/hate?
You know why?
Because God’s purpose for our lives is fulfilled with gifts, talents and our passions which we already have.
You already have a deep burden for what God wants to use you to solve and you enjoy bringing that solution to lives in that aspect.
So the stuff about God sending you to somewhere you would detest are all lies from the pit of hell.
God loves us too much to bring stuff we won’t love into our lives.
His purpose for you would drill you, maybe even make you cry everyday because of the burden/pain on you… but you also find joy and fulfillment while you are at it.
So you follow God’s will for YOUR LIFE while also being absolutely fulfilled and joyful while at it.
I read a Christian lady’s blog who she and her husband are based in Israel as missionaries… even still there during wars and all.
Are they worried about protection?
Are they joyful as God uses them to touch lives?
Has God given them grace to stay where He has placed them?
Would they have it any other way but to live where God has placed them?
I believe the answer to that would be a big NO!
They are dead to themselves, throwing their lives into what God has for them.
And you should be too.
When you realize what the words “He is risen!” means for your life, you would realize that you don’t have a life anymore, Christ is your life.
And as you seek His will for your life and your purpose in Him, you will be ready to go all out in it, recognizing the fact that anything outside of Christ in your life is dead and shouldn’t be ressurected anymore!
I pray for grace on us all…
Everyone who desires to walk in God’s purposes for our lives.
We would not falter.
Our knees would not grow weary…
Jesus’ hands and feet we will be, leading souls to the kingdom and enthroning the kingdom in every sphere God places us in Jesus name, amen!

Have a great Easter Celebration with all yours and remember, the lfe of purpose you live/should aim to live should be one in Christ and Christ alone.
“For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.”
