Love&Relationships

He Loves Me,I Love Him,What Else Again Na???

OMG!
The last time I posted was on monday??? I am so,so sorry dearies,I haven’t abandoned you guys and by God’s grace I’ll never abandon you guys(except when bar exams reach sha) but Law School has been something else!
Right now,I need to sleep for like 24hours!
In fact, yesterday,I couldn’t even move a finger while lying on my bed,but I still had to read, that’s how bad it is.
Its so hectic here but God dey…

Enough of the ranting jare, how has your week been??
Cooler than mine yeah?
I didn’t know whether I’ll do a post today or not,I didn’t think that there will be time to write…
But yay!
School closed early today!!
Yes o,3pm is early!!!
Kai,I am so happy!

This is almost how big my smile is at close of lectures...

This is almost how big my smile is at close of lectures…

This is supposed to be Thursday Morning Talk-Talk,but morning don pass,so just change the Morning to afternoon sha,all join…

I was sitting in class today when this topic just drop for my lane gbum!!!

The Ladies sitting beside me in class were talking about who to marry(yes o,with all the stress here, babes still dey yarn marriage tinz o,dey there dey look na.lol)

One of the ladies was of the opinion that she cannot marry a man that isn’t yoruba like her,and she actually said that, that’s one of her criteria and she prays that God grants it to her.

Me,I nor talk o,cuz sleep dey catch me and I tire well well but as usual,my head started spinning and I want to bring this matter to my Blog people, make we talk about am.

What’s it with Naija and this tribe stuff?
I be feel say na God create us all?
Why the discrimination?
So what if he is igbo or hausa or tiv or igbara or yoruba? What has that got to do with anything??
He met all the important criteria(insert God-fearing et all here) and you feel God has given you a stamp of approval on ur union but you’d rather throw it all away?
All because of tribal differences?

I still don’t get this ah swear!

Even the person advising the lady still spoilt every thing by saying, she too can’t get married to some certain tribes because of the impression she has about them.
That’s to tell you how far this has eaten into Nigeria.
Out Of the three people talking about this issue, two were of the view that they can’t marry this tribe o,or that one.

To me,it seems like a very hateful thing to say.
Shouldn’t it be more about the individual you are with?
He is godfearing, loving, hardworking, caring,et all, fits into the criteria of a “man of valour”…
She is kind, loving, encourages you, spurs you on to achieve your dreams,a perfect help meet,a real virtuous woman…
So what else should be a criteria na?

When I went to visit my granddad before Law school,he mentioned me marrying an Urhobo man(where he is from),and I quickly told him that;-
“if na Urhobo God give me,no wahala,if not,no wahala too”
I said that so that he go just stop that leg right that minute.
I think his own is even worse because I heard from “talk-talk” that he even arrested my dad when he wanted to marry my mom because of the tribe thing too(my dad is Isoko and my mom is Urhobo) but they are great together so I wonder what tribe has got to do with it?

He loves me,I love him,God say yes,so where the tribe issue for there again na?

I actually thought it had to do with the older generation but this lady today just made me realise that its still real o,even in this generation, tribalism still exists.

It seems like there are certain prejudices that people ascribe to each tribe or is it that its simply because they’d rather prefer to speak the same language with the spouse,as was the case with the lady sitting beside me in class?

She actually said, its my criteria,God will give it to me.
But do God really agree with such a criteria that has its basis in discrimination of another human being he created?
When He is Love himself?
I mean He accepts us all as His and wants us to do same,so will He grant a prayer that doesn’t follow the rule of Love?

I could be mistaken as to what I think sha o,so please you guys should help moi.
Me thinks,it’ll be exhausting to let every good guy that comes go because of something as silly as tribal differences…
But I may be wrong sha o,so please drop your comments, let’s talk.
Maybe hating on another is good, after all,we learn every day,so let’s talk and learn.

Drop what you feel its right in the comment box, let’s yarn.

Till my next post, much, much Love Dearies!

Btw,thank God weekend go soon reach oo!
Kai!
I’ve had it up to my head!
But…
God dey!

Hastalavista Dearies!

Lol… 9ja!!!! Every tribe thinks it’s better than the next. It’s in our blood! I think our generation is better than our parents cuz I see a lot of inter-tribal marriages.

Hi dear, I feel your pain when you talk about law school stress. Pele!
Regarding the tribe thing, God go help us o! The discrimination is mostly with the older generation. But I believe that as long as he is a Christian ,genuine one o! and if God gives two of us the go sign, am good to go.

The problem is both wt old and young generation o.a friend pinged me after reading this post and admitted that he is a tribalist and even gave me reasons, one of which is in my post.I just sighed.
Am with u on that one too,am good to go if all u listed are there, tribe is really of no consequence to me…

Suceesfull mariages are never and wud never anchor on
tribalistic lines…love, understandin, compatibility are most basics…marryin frm ur tribe is not a guarantee tht he or she is ur dream man or woman…afterall wen u see a man and get atractd to him,u dnt see d name of the state he is frm engraved on his forehead?its his cariage or poise dt endears u to him,not his tongue or the logo of the state crested in his forehead.my mum just re echoed same to me wen last we spoke abt me getin married to a gal frm ma place.,I jokinly told her am bring a yoruba woman to d house, she paused and told me not to…buh dts her own opinion..I can get maried to a bisi,a ngozi or even a imagbong…love, understandin r most paramount, not the ancient mantra of marryin frm ur tribe .nice piece francie,,lawskul has nt given me tym to patronise ur wrks lately..buh thumbs up dear!

I get d Law skul thing more than u dear, remembr Law na home of stress? But we’ll conquer,God dey!

I’m all over the blog right? Kinda consoling myself for missing out on the book reading eish but I had to go home to avoid parental wrath especially as I lack strength for that kin quarrel. I can relate…this wk, ethics lecture ended by minutes after 1. I was in shock and actually sat till the class almost emptied.

Tribe should not be an issue but backgrounds and experiences have made people think otherwise. My sister thought same, tribal issue was irrelevant but then all her encounter with a certain tribe I won’t mention had her almost rethinking it and me too but I believe good still comes from Nazareth and all tribes have thier issues but we should just let God have His way
