Getting married without a groom series is a series I am running on the blog on my marital story.
It would run till my wedding day.
Be blessed.
“And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”

Chapter 10
Now I was single.
Really single.
No situationship. No attachment to anyone and God began to really work on me.
I went through a season where I could care less about what I wore and how I looked like but God. God began to wreck me from the inside out. Suddenly I began to find out how my mindset about love and relationship had been so skewed from my broken home background.
I found out about how the foundation of all the relationships I had had in the past was shaky and thus did not even stand a chance of survival – thats why we could quarrel terribly and never have peace.
And finally, God began to teach me what marriage was really about. I found out that the entirety of marriage was to typify the relationship between Jesus and the Church on the earth.
“As the scripture says, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and unite with his wife, and the two will become one.” There is a deep secret truth revealed in this scripture, which I understand as applying to Christ and the church. But it also applies to you: every husband must love his wife as himself, and every wife must respect her husband.
Ephesians 5:31-33 GNB
And then I found out that for me to adequately represent God with my marriage, I and my husband would have to adequately represent him even in singlehood. So a marriage with an unbeliever or one who doesn’t know God totally became eradicated out of the question.
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God.
As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.”
II Corinthians 6:14-18 NKJV
In the year 2012, as I yielded my love and marital relationship to God, God began to do a quick work of renewal in my mind and mentality regarding marriage.
But it wasn’t an easy thing at all.
YOUR TURN:
1: Have you yielded your love and marital destiny to God?
Sometimes we think that we know it all but only the manufacturer can tell us what to do with the product. God created marriage and only His His instructions and rule for it work. You can only really steer the ship with the captain’s manual.
ACTION POINT:
Today come to the end of yourself. Think about your love story up until this point of your life.
How has it been?
Have you been struggling and holding back that area from God?
Kneel down where you now and sincerely from your heart talk to God. Ask Him to forgive your blunders. Ask Him to come take control over your marital destiny.
Receive grace to break up and break away from any relationship right now that God didn’t give you permission to go into.
The Lord is near to those who call upon Him.
“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:13 NKJV
