I have not known weariness in spirit like I have experienced this past week.
I don’t mean discouragement or despair, I mean just a certain tiredness and lack of motivation in my soul.
I have all these ideas God has given me brimming inside of me, but simply lack even the power or willingness to go forward with it.
And that would have been okay (a bit) because I can always be refreshed… till the weariness began to affect my prayer time with God and that is simply unacceptable.
There are certain things that make me who I am…
Actually, it is just one thing that makes me who I am… my relationship with God.
You do not want to be near me when I have been apart from God for just two days. I become grumpy and full of complaints, fearful and full of doubts, moody and totally devoid of vision to do anything and absolutely void of anything worth giving to anyone.
And so when I found out that this weariness was affecting even my willingness to have my regular prayer time with God, I became worried… very worried.
I have more or less been doing well with my early hours prayer time with God like I wrote about here.
It has more or less been so amazing, and three days off of it has made me see that sitting before God to pray in the Spirit is not rubbish… it is God’s way of strengthening me and  building capacity and grace for the journey in front of me.
I have found out that even the willingness to write on this blog and stay on my journey in Christ directly flows from the outpouring of my relationship and attachment to Jesus.
I am one of those people who, when I start feeding on crumbs from the Master instead of full meals, it shows almost immediately in the things that I do.
And so when I sensed the weariness in my spirit, I knew that I needed an immediate turn around.
While on my way to Church yesterday, I just kept pleading with God to help me, I haven’t even started yet, I can’t die now. And I don’t mean death physically, I mean a death of everything He has put in me which is way sadder than physical death.
I have also tapped a bit into the season we are in, and as much there is a call to prayer for everyone, there is also just a weariness in spirit and a lack of even the willingness to pray and get deeper into God.
Some of us don’t even notice this weariness or are even okay with it and to me that is simply unacceptable.
I was at Apapa Familly 25 years celebration yesterday, and I was just marveling at the result of a vision God gave to them years back and all the while, what was ringing in my head was God saying “stay in me Frances, stay in me”.

It is not a plan that spans just a few days, It is a plan and a vision that will last for the rest of your life and even outlive you.
So we just cannot relent.
If perhaps you have been experiencing this weariness in spirit too, you have to join me and lets kick this out of our life.
I am learning that God is greater than my feelings and when my 12 am alarm rings, whether I feel like or not, I will gt up and show up at my little corner and get refreshed in the Spirit.
This race is not to the swift or the strong, it is achieved by God’s mercy.
So if we think that we can do anything to run with God’s purpose for our lives without fueling ourselves for the journey, we are totally wrong.
You may have expected another answer as to how you can get out of the funk, but the truth is that there is no short cut to it. Get down to God and get refreshed.Remember that you can do nothing except you remain in Jesus, don't be the branch that is cut off because it bears no fruit. Click To Tweet
And if you want to, you can pray the prayer I prayed and plead with God with… “Lord don’t let me die when I haven’t even started my journey”.
There is still a long way ahead of us, we will do well to build capacity in the Spirit for the race ahead.
God help us all and may we also use the help we are offered in Jesus name, amen.
Till next time on here,
Stay walking in purpose;Â in the place God has placed you.
