Frances's Love Letters Love&Relationships

For Everyone Interested In Living A Satisfied Life As A Single Lady (Singles Hangout In Lagos)

My darling sisters,

How have you all been?

How’s the year been for you? Did you fully participate in our #12TripChallenge?

Did you live your life like you planned to this 2015? Did you live a satisfied life or were you still hung up with waiting for the one to make your life amazing?

I had such a burden for us sisters last week and what you are about to read below has already been sent to my email list… but I am also making it public so as many that are in need of what I’m planning can be a part of it…

This morning I woke up excited. Very excited. For absolutely no reason.
I woke up singing and dancing to Sinach’s “You are the same” and when I was done, I worked out to Frank Edwards “Okaka”.
And as I jogged, I broke into some cool dance steps intermittently, while singing along and laughing out loud.
I was at peace.
I wasn’t happy. I was joyful. And I was alone.
Keyword ALONE.
It is no news (at least to those of you who are regulars on the blog) that I just stepped out of one phase of my life and I’m out of Ekiti – my Davidic kind of bush (finally! Lol).
In that bush called Ekiti though, God worked on my mindset, so much so that the last week in Lagos has seen me spotting things that just doesn’t align with the ideal way God wants us single ladies to live.
It seems to be a season where a lot of single ladies are leaning unto dissatisfaction with their lives – accepting dates and trying to fill the void in their lives with men whom they haven’t even gotten confirmation for from God.
Lots of beautiful ladies are unhappy with their lives. Their lives seem to be full with their day-day routines, their jobs and families but still there’s a void, a void that they think will only be filled when “the one” comes.
But if there’s anything the bush has taught me, it is that we can only find ultimate satisfaction in Jesus.
If Jesus can’t fill you up right now, then no man ever will.
And guess what? Jesus won’t give you your “the one” when He knows that you aren’t yet anchored in Him, enough to not be taken away from Him when He blesses you with the gift of a spouse.
God has filled my heart with these truths in the past one year plus.
It’s the reason why I can wake up and for hours be on my own and be fulfilled… as long as I have Jesus.
I have come to that place of satisfaction in Him, so much so that dissatisfaction in Him doesn’t make me go on a stroll for men to fill me up, but it leads me right back to Him because He is the only one who can spice up my life the way that will make me have the abundant life His word says I should have… and yes, abundant life, even as a single woman.
You don’t have to go on mindless dates that make the yearning in your heart bigger…
You don’t have to stay home all day because you don’t have a man to take you out to see those wonderful places you dream of seeing…
If there’s anything the #12TripChallenge I went on this year has taught me, it is that I can live out my dreams, hobby and love for life right now. Right here. In single hood. In Jesus.
And I want to extend this satisfaction i’ve found in Jesus to you too.
This mail was supposed to have been sent this past Saturday because I felt the need so strongly in me.
And it’s still so strong.
Would you as a single lady be interested in a single ladies hangout/outing that I will be organizing for Saturday, November 21st in Lagos?
That’s about a week from today.
The plan is for us to go out, sight see a place and afterwards, chill at a round table to discuss how to fill up this void we try to fill up with things and men with the only One who can fill us up -Jesus.
It is a meeting that I pray we would all come in, drink up of Him, and leave
with a renewed zest for life and a determination to make the only relationship that can complete us – our relationship with Jesus work.
If you are interested, simply comment on this post with your email or send me a mail at okorofrances@gmail.com.
I will collate the mails at the end of today and spell out more of the plans to everyone who can come for this single ladies hangout.
Uhm, I know some of us have seen my trips to hills, mountains and all, but we won’t be doing any of that for this trip.
I want a laid back atmosphere where after the pictures and ohhing and ahhing over the place, we can get right down to nip the root of why we still aren’t living a life of joy, peace and wholeness in Christ while single…. I have already picked a venue even but I will communicate it all to everyone who is interested.
So Frances’ Love letters be going offline and we will be rounding off #12TripChallenge for all single ladies with a live meeting. Wowzers!
Single Ladies hangout in Lagos.

Hit me up if you are interested.

Love,
Frances.
