Christian Writers And Bloggers Corner

For Christian Writers/Bloggers: Let God Take Over The Online World With Your Blog

Yesterday I watched the Grammy awards with my brother (I’m not sure if it was 2015 or 2016 edition) and I don’t need to tell you how out of tune I was with everything that was going on!
I kept asking my brother “who is this” and “who is that” and it just served to nail the point that my tastes has soooo changed over the years. Thank God!

So I drifted off to sleep after a while but in the midst of the video, I and my brother kept picking out things that might seem “normal” to the regular person but really means so much more.
Firstly the dress sense of almost every lady was one that showed off either a cleavage of a thigh.
And my brother was like “they call this confidence in their body” (true confidence as a woman can only come from knowing our identity in God, the world is just selling people lies…)
Then there was a song where ultimately the lady was singing about lesbianism but couched it in a fine voice and great instrumentals…

And as I sat there with my spirit pricking me about these things, I thought “oh there will be millions of girls who will go out to get these exact same clothes after this event”.
There will be millions of girls who may have been having issues with their sexuality and because of one song, could go all out, full blown in lesbianism and let that demon take a hold of their life without knowing that God didn’t intend for them to be gays and His power can set them free!

Last week when I was in my friend’s house, I peeped an interview of one highly popular lady where she said “she didn’t want to go to hell but then in the very next breath asked if sex before marriage is a sin”.
She was like “it’s not a sin, how is it a sin…bla bla bla”.
They were subtle words said in the finest of voices but my heart bled as I thought about the young girl who doesn’t have a strong conviction about sex before marriage and satan would just use those little words to tip her over the edge into sexual immorality.

My heart bled as I remembered also watching a scene in “empire” with my sister where a gay cuddling session was made to seem so normal.
And I told my sister, “see these stuff you watch, they change your psyche! These people know what they are doing!
They fix these things in films, fix them in songs and ultimately serve to tip unsuspecting guys over the edge”.

If you still haven’t gotten the point, satan is on a massive strategy to use the media to pull souls his way!

I thank God for grace to chose the spiritual things over the physical.
Based on my sexual history, I understand how a sexual sin can be used by satan to torment my mind so I basically stay off of lots of movies except the movie is clean and I can learn something from it.
Apart from that reason also, God has told me that where He is taking me to, worldly songs, movies and stuff isn’t what will sustain me… they will simply be distractions through and through that will pull me from my walk in purpose.
So basically I am not someone who’s in line with the current trends in songs, movies and all… and the little times I do get to peep in, I seem like a weird one because I do not not know the people jumping and shouting to the beats and all on TV and that’s okay.

What my shying away from worldly stuff has also done is that it has made me someone who easily picks out stuff that satan embeds in these things when I see them.
If I bump into a Nigerian hit song video, I see the bom bom and cars and money and my heart bleeds for the little girl and little boy who would automatically think that that is all there is to life.
Most persons who are wrapped in this lifestyle may not see these things but spend two weeks off of them in the Bible and in lots of prayers and then watch just one worldly music video and your spirit will be very much on an all time unrest at what you see.

So my last night peep at the Grammy awards opened my eyes to just how much God needs us – His people to sow His word in the media!
Can you imagine a Christian lady with so much influence over millions and from the way she dresses, to how she speaks to what she reads, her fans copy her?
What would we have if we have such a lady sowing God’s word on her social media pages, on TV, on radio… letting everyone know that God is the one who has made her who she is?
Can you imagine having such a lady who shares her Word for the day from her quiet time to her millions of fans?
What would we have in the world then?
We’d have young ones who are confused being thrown into the right path just from this Christian lady’s influence on their lives.

I read Kindredgrace.com (one of my favorite sites on godly relationships and marriage) last week and it just popped in my mind on how God is taking over the online world for Him.
Forget what you see now, even with all these, even much more so would God’s Word and truth spread to all.
But God needs us to step up and be His hands and feet in this.

You are a Christian but why are you using your blog for just gossip and fashion?
Even if that is your major niche, I am certain that God has led you to share His word on your blog before… did you share it or did you shut the Spirit’s voice down?
I’m sorry but the blog you opened can do so much more for Christ!
Your writing gift can do so much more for Jesus!

Jesus is taking over the online world… He is sowing His word in lives through facebook, instagram, twitter…He is trumping satan hands down in the media… but He needs us to arise and be His instrument in this.

Think about the young souls who are being misled.
All those seemingly harmless quotes they make on “she says I should be a provider as her husband, am I an Atm card?”
Those are seeds being sown… satan is even attacking the family system God has placed on earth.
He is confusing men and women on what being a husband and wife really means… but you are married and God has taught you His truth on this, but you’d rather share sweet pictures of you and your boo and tag them rather than share God’s truth on biblical marriages.
Why?
Because you are scared?
Because you are shy?
Because you are afraid of what really?

I just really want us to see that satan is using the media to plant evil seeds in people’s lives..
He is drawing souls into hell every single day!
Your one post on premarital sex being a sin and not right for a Christian can save a life.
Your one post on what it really means to love your husband can save a marriage.
Your one post on where God stands on gay and lesbian issues can redeem someone from that trap.

Please use your gift of writing and blog for Jesus!
His heart bleeds at souls that are perishing… we might not go out to evangelize but we can evangelize with our pens… in the place where God has placed us.

Dear fellow Christian writer/blogger, will you let God take over the online world with you as His hands and feet?
I hope that you’ll say yes and make changes to do that from this day.
God needs us to arise.
He is counting on us as laborers to reap the harvest.
Please let the excuses go and let’s lift Jesus high on social media/our blogs/our radio/television presence, etc. Etc.

God help us and strengthen us with His grace… amen!

Till next time on Christian writers/bloggers corner,
Love,
Frances.

Beautiful!! Sometimes when I think of how the devil has taken this world captive, my heart bleeds too and I really don’t like thinking about it because it could get me depressed and I become useless when I do. Lol. And so His love compels me to write. I remember one time I didn’t feel I could keep writing and right there in the bathroom, God was telling me that To be a leader I will have to wash the feet of His people. At that moment I knew I had to write no matter how much work load and deadlines I had on my hands due to the current program I’m running. I know I’m going according to His will right where I am, but I suddenly felt like what if He came now, can I look Him in the face and say I used all I had for him? I exhausted it all? Will he say oh lazy and wicked servant or oh good and ‘faithful servant? This we’re the words that came to me and I prayed about it. If God wants me to keep writing he would give me the strength because sometimes I don’t think I can as it takes so much from me. But it gives me joy to speak Christ. There’s this thing inside of me that is happy and fulfilled whenever I can tell someone about Jesus or when someone says how much God uses the writings to reach out to them from whatever darkness they were. God has been giving me the strength and the grace so far and I’m grateful. I’m glad when you talked about the blogs that share Christ and God is taking over and we will pray People will come to know him and love him passionately!, so much beyond imagination

    Thank you Frances. God bless

As much as it seems like the right thing to do, I don’t think it is what we should be doing. The Devil will always do what he will be doing.

My question is as a ‘writer’ what message are we portraying? Which God are we showing this world we are talking about? Is it the God of the Bible or the God that has been handed down to us?

I think what we NEED as believers is to go back into the word and live the life of Christ because, I might just be on a blog spewing out things thinking I am sha a christian blogger and NONE of it is what God is sending me or even according to his word. We should be very careful.

I can now start using my social media to be preaching Prosperity Gospel or Using God to fulfill my desires… I am sha speaking christianese right? But is it Truth? NO!!!

We MUST first of all get the Truth right ( and honestly, most of us don’t know the truth) then we can disciple people. I dare say that it’s not really about our blogging… It’s what we do outside the blog world. It’s really important first that we are pushing out the Truth.

The real work God calls us to do is Disciple people.

      Hi Mfoluwa…
Thanks for calling our attention to the likely pitfalls you outlined in your comment…
However I hope it didn’t look like I was advocating writing for Jesus from a random place… writing/blogging for Jesus only springs out of a life that is in Jesus.
I have written before on how God is truly the only muse we have in this work of blogging for Him… if our relationship with Him is broken… if we aren’t feeding from Him, there will. Be nothing to feed others from Him.

So no, one isn’t supposed to just pick up a pen and share whatever they want to share…Infact if we do this “ministry” of using our pens for God as we should, He leads us on what to write.

As to the issue of living the life in God even outside of blogging, I agree with that 100percent.
We aren’t perfect yet but are working towards perfection in God but I also dare say that this life that we live flows through our pen if we are called into it.
I know what God has said to me on blogging/writing for Him and it sure is a great way to disciple others too.
You’d be amazed at the number of lives God grooms in Him with one blog post.
But even more importantly, that blog post also disciples the writer also.

God does His job even in the person He uses to write and in the ones who read what they write.
Lives are changed, transformed when we write for God, led by the Spirit not by our own selfish desires… even our own lives too are transformed (I testify to this truth).

Thanks again for calling our attention to the above.

I pray for grace on us all who God asks to use our pens for Him in Jesus name, amen.

Yes! I will take my stand and reflect Christ, in my blogging, daily living, speaking and in all; so help me again.

God bless you for stirring us up again.

This is one great platform to reach the world as we write reflections of what and whom we believe. For me, it is not a topic for debate at all!
    Well done Frances!
    Have a super blessed day!

This piece is breathless and dead-on. For years I have spoken out against pornography and sexualized music. I can see the evil message carefully embedded in songs ,movies and fashion. You are right about God’s word spreading through the media and he is going to use us along as we are yielded to him. Little wonder ,why I like the Kendrick brothers…as they spread the truth of God through their movies . This is a challenge for us all to evangelise with our talents.

Thank you Frances for being a mouthpiece of God.

    Cheers!!!

“Evangelize for God with our talents*
You can imagine how much would be done in and for Jesus if we’d simply surrender our talents in total use to Him, to bring Him glory. I looove what the Kendrick brothers are doing and I pray for more grace upon them in Jesus name, amen…
and Tosin, I pray more eyes open to these subtle but deadly messages imbeded in songs, videos, etc. Lord help us to seeeee. Amen!
