For All Enterpreneurs: What To Do When The Statistics Do Not Favor Your Business

If you read my goals for 2015 on Olatoxic’s blog, you should already know that one of my goals for this year is to start my own business.

Yes, I am a lawyer who has an entrepreneurial itch ๐Ÿ™‚
So I have been making inquiries and gathering information on what I want to do.

I went to ask a certain guru in the business on friday about somethings and he said so many things…
He told me the risks involved, no much profit involved…bla bla bla.
Now, the kind of conversations that goes on in me even when I am talking to others is amazing.
He was saying he wouldn’t advice anyone to start up this kind of business and as he was talking, I was remembering Abraham.

“He did not look at what he could see but he called forth the things that be not as though they were – (paraphrased)Romans 4:17”

Now, when I first came into Ekiti for NYSC, I used to keep quiet when others lambaste the place.
It’s a dry State… there’s no money to be made…bla, bla, bla.
But I usually can’t keep quiet when friends say that around me, I must correct them.
What you believe is what you get.
What you speak into the atmosphere is what comes back to you.
You say it’s a dry State, no profit for business and so it will be for you. It’s not a curse, it’s the way things work.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue remember?

mond
So what do you do when the world’s statistics on business doesn’t align with God’s statistics that has been given to you?

First of all, it is important that you get a word and get God’s backing for what you want to do.
Remember that it was only when God told Isaac not to move that he prospered even in the dry land(famine)- Genesis 26
So you can’t just go all out on business ideas without God’s approval or without God building it up for you.

You can even get a promise in the Word for your business. One you can meditate on and renew your mind with.
Eg, mine is “He will make springs of water flow for me even in dry places” – Isaiah 43:19
When you hear discouraging words and think discouraging thoughts, weigh the WORD and the world on a scale and chose wisely.

I chose the Word.

The Word is life.
No dryness, no lack of profit, no whatever can stand against the Word.
Fix your sight on God’s Word and what He has said to you concerning what you want to start up.
In fact, when you hear discouraging words, go to the Word, open it up, tell what God what you heard and tell Him that you chose to believe Him and walk in His word instead.

We’ve got to know that it is God that gives the power to make wealth.
We’ve got to know with God, we’ve got all we need.
If you don’t have God, that bright idea, that hard word will all be nada.
Start things right.

We belong to a different kingdom, we do things how its done there.
We work, we hustle hard, we bring the ideas to reality but… We first of all lay it onto God’s hands.
We commit it to Him and He will help us. – Psalm 37:5

He will prosper us certainly but will we dare to walk in faith?
Will we dare to plant like Isaac did and fear no famine?
Will we dare to take the Word in prayers over our businesses even as we work hard?
Every business has certain risks But of course, entrepreneurs are risk takers…So what are we talking about?

If you are sure that God’s has given you the go ahead to start up what you want to start up, then by all means, hold on to what He says to you and plant that seed.
Plant the seed…
Work hard…
Pray…
Faith it and fear no dryness.
I wish us all a year of fulfillment of our heart desires.

Happy New Week people!
Love,
Frances.

รขย€ยœHe will make springs of water flow for me even in dry placesรขย€ย รขย€ย“ Isaiah 43:19

I am taking this word and hugging it, I need it. My grumpy day is made. What is good for Monday is also great for Thursdaysรขย€ยฆ.. a few moments ago I was worrying and thinking of some of the impossibilities i carry around, but I think I just found the theme to all God is going to do this year.

“Lay down your burdens..He will carry you..yes, He will carry you”…
Yes Keke, God will carry them.
I’m more than glad that the Word up there brought life in your day(its the Word, it always brings life ๐Ÿ™‚
As always, for us all, I pray for and wish us the very best on all our endeavors.
Make plans, but lay them down and God’s feet. Worry not, He knows what to do with them ๐Ÿ™‚
