Personal Memoirs

#Conversations With Him…

Me: I am so tired; I just want to sleep…nittanitta
Him: For yet a little sleep, a little slumber and poverty or in this case, low grades in Bar Finals will come upon you like a disease.
Me: But I am tired Lord, I just want to sleep for a little while.
Him: You are not tired, you are just lazy.
Me: Me Lord? I am lazy?
Him: Yes you are lazy. Is this how your goal will be achieved? You can’t just fast and pray and do no work. You have to read. You have to go the extra mile. I repeat, you are just lazy Frances.
Me: Me lazy? Me lazy? Me lazy shey? Ok, I am getting up.
#Conversations with the one in me.
Its so amazing that I can joke and laugh with the God in me like we are friends which we indeed are.
He speaks o, just a little silence, a little quiet and you will hear His voice telling you the way to go…
Me: Holy Spirit, I am not lazy jor.
#Runs away.
I wrote the above a while ago, on the 7th of January 2014 to be precise. God does speak to us, sometimes we don’t listen, sometimes we are so stubborn to accept what He says like I refused to accept that I was lazy above which I am/was, but I’ve being trying to read o…

But tis not easy…  and speaking of easy/hard, a friend told me she misses my Monday Inspirational drive, I just kind of lapsed into publishing posts on only Fridays. It just seems like the easy way out you know; it’s after lectures on Friday, I am free with the weekend around the corner and since I don’t have a phone to publish posts on the go, Fridays give me the free time needed to use my “big” laptop in one corner without having to rush off to class or think about reading Agaba’s Criminal Litigation on Monday.

But I do miss Monday’s Inspirational Drive on my blog too. I had people testifying about what it inspired them to do, but more that, the posts also had a way of keeping me on track, I also step into the week with focus…

So I am not promising, (I can’t promise this) but I will TRY to resume posts of Monday’s Inspirational Drive again. I will TRY, so help me God.
But I can promise you that once I get a phone and can blog on the go again, the situation will be better…

I hope you’ve all had an amazing week? Mine was spent stealing whatever smiles I could…
And oh before I forget, this is one of the outcomes of “are you really ready for greater post on my blog’.  (please click on the link to read if you haven’t)
This babe reignited her love for making bags, shoes and accessories with Ankara again, opened a page on Facebook, started a business with it and I see it turning into a household + nationwide name soon, all it takes is to start, God will make it fruitful.

Congratulations Efe, you put your inspirations back to work, and thanks Frances for helping her do that.

Hey dear, its good to be back here. I can’t understand juggling busy schedules with blogging. It happens to me all the time. We will miss your Monday inspirational drives but don’t forget that its only wise that you create a workable schedule between studies and blogging.

On God speaking to us , he does that every time. I pray we learn to listen to him. By d way, those Ankara designs are fab . cheers!

One of my favorite prayers is: ‘Lord open my ears to hear your voice.’
I always ask The Lord to Draw me into a place of deeper intimacy with His Spirit. I can give you instances when I heard His voice and years later I am still enjoying the fruit of my obedience. I yearn to have MORE of such intimate experiences. Hmm, if only I can readily give up all distractions, this would be easy.

yes sir Praisegeorge, I’ve found out that one of the hindrances to His speaking to us is distractions…BIG HINDRANCE! on days when my spirit is quiet enough to receive, I hear Him, on days when I am rushing off somewhere or the other or doing other things in the name of busy, I get nada from Him..
and I am soo adopting your prayer..Grace for me to keep still, to hear Him when He speaks, to BE STILL…

hahaha, i can imagine your convo with Baba God. Ehn it’s not like like that na,
face the truth, it’s like that. You’re lazy..lool
And who better can tell you the truth except God himself.

I’m glad you heeded to his voice sha. It’s good and a sign of growth. Obedience.

And the bags and shoes are nice.

@Glowingscenes, I tell you, sometimes, its so hard to accept the truth when He speaks, my mind wants to struggle and do it my own way but like you wrote, I am growing and it should be all God and not me.He knows better anyway so there’s no need for me to argue..
and please follow the fine fine bags right down to her page too, more great stuff are there..

It’s always amazing to identify the voice of the sweet Holy Spirit of God in us when he speaks, more like gists with us as it was in your case Frances. Like @Glowing Scenes said, who better to tell us the truth than Himself. I’m inspired as usual.
You are indeed a blessing dear friend, Efe is just one of the testimonies of your own Greatness. Like the saying goes, “You cannot give what you don’t have”, Greatness is in you Frances and you are evidently dispensing and distributing it to your world, visible or non visible.
    God bless you, your excellency.

wow! and Hannah just dropped an eye opener on here, I never quite saw it as distributing greatness to the world, only really glad that God wrought something with those simple words but then you are right, so right that I am praying right now..
That may we all spread Christ words/seeds in us to all, that all may share of His goodness and greatness through us too, in Jesus name, Amen.
      #hug, Love.
