I felt like somebody needed this today.
Be blessed.

The angels wondered why Brenda’s mouth wasn’t moving. They had been sent with gifts for her by the Master and He had told them she would be here at her Church’s prayer meeting tonight. Lots of angels had been sent to stand guard and release what the saints asked for and uttered with their mouths but they had specifically been sent to Brenda.
They watched Brenda as she looked away from the minister. They saw pain in her eyes and felt pity for her. Her mother had died some months back and things had been rough financially since then. She had to go back to school soon and it was for this purpose the Master sent them to her.
Others were praying and their other colleagues set about releasing angels and flying off to dispatch the orders of the saints but for Brenda, all was quiet.
They paused.. they heard her singing…
“Lord, look upon your poor servant, I am here just waiting on you..”
She cried as she sang. The angels were touched by her tears but could do nothing still. They had no authority to act beyond then scope of God’s word.
The word of the Lord said concerning them: “Bless the Lord , you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word.”
(Psalms 103:20)
It wasn’t within the scope of their orders to respond to anything lesser than the word of God.
They heard Brenda crying and singing again:
“Lord I am so down. My heart still aches from my mom’s death. All my uncles have refused to give me money for my school fees. Oh Lord look upon your poor servant and have mercy and pity…”
Again the angels looked at each other. It would seem that Brenda didn’t know that the Master had her good at heart and it is His good pleasure to supply all her needs. As a matter of fact, they wouldn’t be here for her if not to bestow upon her the Lord’s good pleasure.
“Bless the Lord , all you His hosts, You ministers of His, who do His pleasure”
(Psalms 103:21)
They sighed. When would these saints learn to believe God?
Angel Gabriel had told of that long ago day when he took good news to Zechariah and instead of rejoicing, Zechariah doubted his word.
The first angel shook his head. Brenda was doing the same thing Zechariah did all those long ago years; she had no inkling about how much the Father desired to bless her. She thought that she had to beg and plead and cry for him to favour her, without recognizing that the LORD desired to bless every one of His children. Everyday, every morning, He held court listening for the needs of His children and was constantly thinking up ways to get their answers to them. But so many times, the saints themselves were their own barriers. If only they would just learn to read the Word of the Lord and obey it. Put the word in their mouth as a double-edged sword and wield it in the battles of life. Then angels like them won’t be standing by with gifts still in their hands.
Suddenly he heard Brenda say:
“And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
He smiled and listened again:
“And my God shall supply all MY need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
The angels smiled as they made their way closer to where she knelt.
Brenda didn’t understand why but she suddenly had nothing else to say but to say God’s word.
She didn’t know how to pray at first because her heart had been so burdened and she could do nothing else but cry. She felt as though the world was crashing down on her.
She had been pleading and begging Jesus to help her complete her last year of school for the past month and instead of things going well, every one she called left her with a deeper pain. Even her uncle who just returned from a vacation abroad refused to help her.
She had come to church tonight with nowhere else to turn.
She was down and broken-hearted.
But then as she cried, suddenly the verse from Philippians flashed across her heart.
She waved it off at first but at its repeated appearance she had no option but to start saying it.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
(John 14:26)
She knew it was the Holy Spirit who was trying to remind her of the word but she was tired of having faith but then His imprint of the word in her heart was so great that she began to say it over and over again.
Suddenly she began to feel a joy and lightness in her spirit so she began to dance.
Immediately she began to sing, Claudius the first angel heard the Lord give another order concerning her. He had told them to give her financial blessings and had moved one of her friends in school to call her tomorrow and send for her account number but again the Lord had increased the bar for this beloved saint.
Let the people praise Him, then shall the earth yield her increase.
Claudius was told to go to her uncle who just returned from a vacation and spoke to his heart to call Brenda tomorrow and wire money into her account.
As Claudius made to fly away, Brenda started worshipping the Lord with praises from her lips.
He could hear as she called Him her lover, her husband, the king of all kings and the Lord of all Lords..
Again he heard the Lord call from above to change the order. This time he said to tell her uncle to put Brenda on a scholarship and monthly salary till she graduated from the University.
Claudius looked at Brenda one last time before he flew away to carry out the King’s order…. if only all the saints of God would open the word to understand what really happens in the heavens when they pray and use the word of God.. if only they would simply put the sword of the Spirit – the word of God in their hands… then angels like him won’t have to sit around on earth with their hands laden with gifts from the Master Jesus.
But for today his hands would be free and he was grateful for that.
“Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples; To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute on them the written judgment— This honor have all His saints. Praise the Lord!”
Psalms 149:5-9

Study Insights and questions:
“When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.”
Revelation 8:1-5 NKJV

Sometimes Christians think that their prayers are not heard by God but that cannot be farther from the truth.
The truth is that there is a whole frenzy of activity that takes place in the heavenly realm when saints of God pray (and praise).
We see from the above that the prayers of the saints are mixed with incense by an angel and they ascend before God from the angel’s hands.
That same angel takes a censer and throws it down to earth after the prayers ascend towards God.
Could it be that the angel is also throwing answers to the saints prayers in the form of fire to earth?
This is Zechariah’s story of answered prayers:
“In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. Once when Zechariah’s division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God, he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense. And when the time for the burning of incense came, all the assembled worshipers were praying outside. Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John.”
Luke 1:5, 8-13 NIV
The angel of the Lord appeared to Zechariah when incense was being burned with the assembled worshippers praying outside the temple.
How can we say that God doesn’t hear our prayers?
There is a corresponding message given to angels in answer to the prayers of the saints when we pray. That we don’t see the world of the heavenlies does not make the truth any less real.
Lets take a look at what happens when the people of God praise Him:
“It happened after this that the people of Moab with the people of Ammon, and others with them besides the Ammonites, came to battle against Jehoshaphat. And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord , and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. Now all Judah, with their little ones, their wives, and their children, stood before the Lord . Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly. And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord , who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”
And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the Lord , worshiping the Lord
So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”
And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord , and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord , For His mercy endures forever.”
NOW WHEN THEY BEGAN TO SING AND TO PRAISE, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped. When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much. And on the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Berachah, for there they blessed the Lord ; therefore the name of that place was called The Valley of Berachah until this day.”
II Chronicles 20:1, 3-3, 13-18, 20-26
Victory through praise!
Let’s take heed this day to these spiritual weapons of the word and praise that we have in the Lord and put obstacles and enemies to flight.
And as we do, we put the realm of the angelic to flight, bearing answers and weapons of war on our behalf
Amen?
Amen!
“Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?”
Hebrews 1:14 NIV
