Some persons have asked me what my blog is all about and the long version is in my about blog page but let me do a short version today.
My personal word for 2015 is to walk in God’s purpose for my life and of course, that includes my blog.
I got the word “Imperfectly Perfect” from my eyes. I have what Nigerians call “half past eyes” and as I began to see myself the way God sees me, I realized that what people call imperfections are all perfections to God.
As I began to work with that on my other blog however, the vision expanded. I took sometime in prayer after Law School and a bit of my purpose was made clear to me.
I was given the go ahead to self host and reach lives for God with writing, so writing on this blog is practically a ministry.
Imperfectly perfect not only refers to our physical flaws but also other flaws we have in our lives.
Some of us have relationship baggage, attitude issues, family issues, debts…etc, every category on this blog teaches us how to do things God’s way and not the world’s way.
God can take away the issues in our past – The abortions, the consequences of the premarital sex…and make us perfect in Him.
Matthew 5:48 – â³You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect.â
And you will also see that I am very open on this blog, with my struggles and successes in Christ.
Why?
Matthew 5;16 (Msg version) â âNow that Iâve put you there on a hilltop, on a light standâshine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, youâll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.â
It is my prayer and aim that everyone who comes to this blog will be inspired to grow into the perfection that only Christ can give in every area of our lives.
We currently have 5categories on the blog with an additional one for this new year.
Monday’s Inspirational Drive continues and remember this won’t just be about inspiration to do more in our work places but also in our lives.
This category this year will also feature some tips for Christian writers.
I wrote one post on tips for Christian writers last year and as I get my personal lessons and tips, I am always pushed to share.
So we will be seeing more of that on Monday’s Inspirational drive this year.
Wednesday’s Rhema for today is practically the most important segment on this blog.
It doesn’t just help you, it helps me. Lol, selfish much aren’t I?
Rhema for today is when we have our #OnlineBibleStudy and dig into the word.
I got some few Bible Studies from others last year that I published on the blog and this year I hope many more persons will be interested in studying the Bible for themselves and sharing with us if they want to.
But the essence for this category is for us to feed on God’s word.
John 15:7
âIf you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and MY WORDS REMAIN IN YOU and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.â
The category of awakening youths will be starting up this year.
Remember I said here that I was mega inspired while I was at NYSC Camp?
The first aim for this segment is to awake youths who think differently from the norm.
Youths who have a vision for their lives and are working to achieve same.
Youths who refuse to be held back by negative mind sets in Nigeria but are pushing forward with businesses, their purpose in life et al.
I interviewed some certain youths while I was in NYSC camp, so we will be having “Youths Speak” also under this segment – that is words of these youths who want to be more and do more.
This segment will also talk on NYSC. Not everyone wastes their one year in service, some do think that it is an opportunity to #DoSomething.
We will be seeing these people in a segment called Youths Speak.
Awakening youths segment will also include posts on my work on speaking at girls secondary Schools.
That’s my desire for this one year and for each event held, I will be updating this space.
Every other youth who does something viable like events above(could be whatever purpose that has been laid in your heart to do) can also send pictures and details in and I will put them up on the blog.
As time goes on, the vision for this may very well expand to feature adverts of business of youths.
Youths who have gone ahead, taken the plunge and started up something for themselves can advertise their businesses on this space.
Everything on this category is garnered to inspire you to be more, do more, think differently and operate above the norm as a Nigerian youth.
Every Friday we will have guest posts on the blog as usual.
Yes, you can send in your articles, along with a picture and bio, with links to your blog/social media links(or if you want to be anonymous, that’s fine also) and it will be published here.
Bless us with the words in you and fellow bloggers, this is just Imperfectly Perfect Lives sharing the stage with you. It can’t just be “me, me, me”, you can also get involved and even get some of my traffic for yourself.
Send articles to my mail, okorofrances@gmail.com
And of course, every Saturday, we have Frances’s Love Letters on the blog.
I have been told that this is the favorite segment of some certain persons and it should very well be 🙂
We make too many mistakes relationship wise and this segment is basically about us allowing God’s word to rule our relationship life and subsequent marriages.
You don’t think that God should be involved in your love life? You will see that you are wrong when you read this segment.
The aim is to inspire you to even do this area of your life God’s way.
The letters will be to single ladies, single guys, prayers to God… Even an online virtual prayer space for singles.
There will be some words on relationships as God reveals them to me also.
Every saturday, I pray that whatever you read here will even inspire you to get God involved in your love story.
And finally, my personal memoirs category on the blog is not fixed on any particular day.
It’s basically me journalling the milestones or some certain events in my life on my blog.
Stuff like first week at law School or last week at law school.
Or first two weeks as an ajuwaya or my visit to Olumo rock.
If you read Saturday’s post, then you know that this segment will get hot this year.
I have got 12 new places to see as a single lady this 2015 and of course, they will all go up on my personal memoirs 🙂
You can read all about the 12trip challenge for single ladies here
These plans mean that we will have new posts on the blog every Monday,
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Saturday.
It is my prayer that God will give me the grace to STAY FAITHFUL with this blog that He has placed in my hands.
We are not here to play, we are here to inspire others to live every aspect of their lives in and for God.
It is my prayer that as we behold Christ, we will be perfect indeed.
Our imperfections will melt away in His hands.
And that’s the plans for 2015 everyone.
I still have to learn some photo shop and design skills for pictures so as to take the blogging farther and to save money sha but all in all… all is good.
