Been Away For Too Long

While on a bus back to my hostel on Saturday,I felt a stirring in my spirit, reminding me of the fact that I had not had my quiet time with God in a week or even more than a week.
I pondered on it for a while but didn’t make any definite resolutions on how to rectify it.
Later on, I got a message from a friend.I had asked him to check on me about my personal Bible Study life, and there he was, asking me what’s up with my personal time with God,right at the time when I needed it.
He gave me some tips and I “half-resolved” to make it better this week.
I knew it was definitely not a coincidence as there is none of that with God.He orchestrates everything that happens in our lives.
The climax happened on Sunday at service where the essence of digging into God’s word was reiterated.

Truthfully,I haven’t been as close to my Beautiful Father as I should be.
Yes,I speak of God every time,In fact,I rarely have conversations without talking about Him,I still have the God consciousness within me,I go for services, both weekdays and sundays but still,I knew something was missing.

Between waking up,exercising, having to read/try to read, getting ready for class in the morning and falling into bed exhausted each day,I had left my relationship with my Father out of my daily activities.
I had disregarded The One who gave me life by not devoting even a tiny fraction of His gift to me to Him each day.

Yes,I was walking around laughing and living as a normal person but the spirit within me was starving.
I had been feeding my mortal body but giving nothing to the spirit that makes the mortal body what it is.
Continuing on this road would have made me dead within.
As we all know,The Word is the medicine that triggers the life within us.
“Every word I’ve spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making.”-John 6:63

The Word Liveth!

The Word Liveth!

I wasn’t using my youth as I should for God.
I was depriving myself of a lot of benefits that could be gained from meditating on God’s word…

Spiritual Growth.

Spiritual Growth.

Saving My Soul...

Saving My Soul…

Directing My footsteps...

Directing My footsteps…

Prosperity...

Prosperity…

I was actually depriving myself of God Himself.

God=the word

God=the word

I was leaving His outstretched arms hanging without going into them each day.
I wasn’t spending time with my Father.

I had/have been away for far too long.

Psalm 1:1-3 says;
“How well God must like you— you don’t hang out at Sin Saloon, you don’t slink along Dead-End Road, you don’t go to Smart-Mouth College.
Instead you thrill to GOD’s Word, you chew on Scripture day and night. You’re a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month, Never dropping a leaf, always in blossom.”

As believers,we are like trees planted by the waters.
But a tree needs light, water and roots to live. And when you starve a tree of those things,it dies.
Where are your roots and resources from which you draw life?
To get the blessings, you must fulfill the conditions which include “chewing on the Scripture day and night”

I know this isn’t the Monday’s Inspirational Drive that you are all used to on my blog, but this is as inspirational as inspiration gets.
Everything you need to motivate and spur you on to greater heights is in The Word.
Be it on academics, career, relationships, marriage, business, family life, health, finding your purpose in life, living a purposeful life…. You get it right with the word, and you’ll get it right every where else.

An anonymous writer wrote;
“WHAT IS THE BIBLE?
THIS BOOK contains the mind of God,the state of man,the way of salvation, the doom of sinners and the happiness of believers.
Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable.
Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe and practice it to be holy.
It contains light to direct you, food to support you and comfort to cheer you.
It is the traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldier’s sword and the Christian’s character.
Here paradise is restored, Heaven opened and the gates of hell disclosed.
Christ is its grand object, our good is its design and the glory of God its end.
It should fill the memory, rule the heart and guide the feet.
Read it slowly, FREQUENTLY and PRAYERFULLY.
It is given you in life and will be opened in the judgement and will be remembered forever.
It involves the highest responsibility, will reward the greatest labour and will condemn all those who trifle with its sacred contents”

Don’t wait for the new year before starting over and making changes in your relationship with God.
Start NOW!
Ask God to place in you a renewed appetite for His word. Ask the Holy Spirit to come in and help you.
Start small, maybe a verse a day,the more you read, the more you enjoy it,and the more the Holy Spirit places in you a voracious appetite for the Word.

The Word contains every thing you need to live a well seasoned life. For every situation you go through, there’s a word for you in the Bible. Its right there, just waiting for you to speak it into your situation before it comes alive.

Truly True.

Truly True.

See those decisions we struggle with?
The Word can make it easier for us.

Steering us In The Right Direction...

Steering us In The Right Direction…

So dear,let us not tarry.
Stop springing up different reasons why you can’t dig deep into God’s word and study it for yourself.

Will you lose yours?

Will you lose yours?

Start Now!

I dare say that this post has spoken to me in more ways than one(even though I wrote it) and today,I have purposed in my heart to bridge the gap I have unwittingly placed between me and my God.
I have decided to say for all intents and purposes, that I will delight myself in your word.

“Lord God,let the words leap out of the page into my soul, thyself making them vivid, quick, powerful and fresh to my heart”

I can’t afford to lose gigantic blessings and my relationship with you by distancing myself from your word.
I am so sorry Lord.
I have been away for far too long.
Today I am coming back.

I hope that you will too.
God help us all,Amen.

Have a blessed week everyone!

A word in season o. I was thinking about it also this morning. I have been reading my bible, but not had quiet time. There’s a difference. God’s help and grace upon us.

Citizen Cyril, the issue is already being solved by us knowing that we’ve been away from Him,now,we’ve got to take steps to go back right away. Make a U-turn,ask God to help u,make a conscious effort to spend time with the word daily…
All is well. All is well,His grace is sufficient.

So well put! We often let the business of life drive us far, satan gives us “genuine” excuse and our minds tell us God understands. He doesn’t!!! He wants us at all times to give Him our time, or should I say, His time. His presence and His Word are the sustenance we so need in this dying world.
Thanks for helping us see this truth once again.

I want to frame your comment Tessa, and I guess I would, would use it on instagram. It’s so true, the blogs and all can only give us snacks and in-between meals, the real food lies in us digging into the word for ourselves.
    Thank you..
