Becoming God’s Own Kind Of Woman

My dear sisters,

I have been on a journey with God of recent, one where He keeps tugging me on being His own kind of woman; the Proverbs 31 kind of woman.

I first encountered the Proverbs 31 woman from Mama Toju my fellowship Vice President when I was in the University.
It was she that also told me about Galatians 5:22 – the fruits of the Spirit.
At the time I wrote out Galatians 5:22 and kept seeing it everyday while trying to align myself with it.
It’s been years now and I feel like God wants to take the gear higher again.
This time He wants me to practically put in the work to being a woman after His own heart. Not just studying it but imbibing and really inculcating it into my life.

Remember when I did the Preparation on how to be a wife series? All the attributes we focused on mostly had their roots in Proverbs 31.

“She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.”

Love this version:

“She does good for her husband all her life. She never causes him trouble.”

She is resourceful; not lazy.

“She works very hard. She is strong and able to do all her work.”
-Proverbs 31:17 ERV
“She oversees the care of her house. She is never lazy.”
-Proverbs 31:27 ERV
She is a career and business woman but her home never suffers for it.

I believe God wants to mold me into this kind of woman. He wants to mold us all into this kind of woman. If we would submit to His training.

I want to be God’s own kind of woman, not just for my husband but for my God. This is who He is calling me to be like today. And He is stretching out His hand to help me. Giving me the word and He wants me to practically apply it to my life.

I know it’s not clothes, etc that matters (even though yes we should look good) but God wants to give me the substance. The meat. The main deal.
From the time sister Toju gave me those scriptures I have always had a desire to be a woman after God’s own heart.
It’s all in my old journals and now God is giving me a ticket to indeed be her.
He wants to take me on a training to “become” not a woman of the world but a woman of God.

And I am ready.
I truly want to become God’s own kind of woman.

We always pray by 6am on Saturdays on the women at the well group after Bible study and this is one of our prayer points today:

Take proverbs 31. Read and ask God for help. Ask Him to build you.mold you. Help you be His own kind of woman…

It’s been a long time coming and Lord I’m ready to go to class with you. Just please help me. Amen.
