Awakening Youths: Letting The Young Girls Know That There’s More To Life Than Marriage

Hi loves!

I know that I shouldn’t even waltz in here without apologizing for the lack of #OnlineBibleStudy on the blog yesterday.
I was swamped! Didn’t have light to power my devices and still had a million things to do… I had the study written down but before I could get to it and have my phone charged, it was past 12pm already… so there goes. I’m sorry.

And Happy New Month everybody!
I can’t believe that the month of July would now mean something to me – Book launch is still July 6th so yeah, July 6th actually rhymes with my birthday September 6th so it’s all good yes?
I pray this month will have you running along with what God has directed you to do.
2015 won’t end with you on a stand still… no, God’s with you and all He has purposed for you will come to pass as the months go by.

With all the students..

With all the students..

I printed out the picture above on tuesday to be added to my personal project report and I just couldn’t stop smiling as I looked at the hard copy in my hands.
I almost wanted to keep it for myself and not submit it with my report.
God has been awesome in this walk in purpose at the schools this year.
We held the last seminar(the one at the picture above) on June 19th and had 3sessions as usual.
A friend spoke on career aspirations – how they can find their own path and another fellow corper taught the students how to make beads. We made earings and bangles for them.
I wish I was still enough to learn but most of the girls had questions to ask me.
I had delved a bit into talking about relationships and how this isn’t the right time for them to engage in love affairs and they had lots of questions about that.
“Aunty, what is the right age to get into a relationship?”
“Aunty how do you know that a guy loves you?”
“Aunty what do you do when a guy is dating your friend too?”

I’m looking at them and wondering, but you are just 14, 15 or 16, why are you worrying about boys now?
And then I know that this is one of the reasons why God has put this work in schools in my heart.

Speaking to the girls on purpose

Speaking to the girls on purpose

When I was 16, I was having phone chats and phone sex and boyfriends online – delving into things I shouldn’t do.
I look back on those days and I just go “Oh Frances, you just didn’t know God then” and that’s what I want these young girls to know.
Oh dear girls, there’s more to life than marriage and having a boyfriend.
I wish someone had told me that God has a great purpose for my life when I was in SS2 or so, just so I didn’t have to just play around but I am grateful that all that happened in my life because those experiences are my propelling force today.

If God has deemed it fit to use me to tell these young girls to live their lives for Him, then I will do it and pray that God will bring my words to the heart of these girls whenever they need it.

In Ekiti State, it’s not unusual to see a lady of 20/21/22 logging 3kids behind her – a situation which isn’t bad in itself but most of them feel like that’s all there is to life and it isn’t.
There’s more that God has in store for them and this more is what I hope will be awakened in their consciousness even after the seminars I organize at the schools are over.

With Charity who taught them how to make beads and the student who got the earings!

God has been awesome so far with the work at schools and I have about 2 schools in my project file at NYSC to go but more schools on my purpose file to go.
I’m always reminded of my second book when I go to the schools and I hope to have a smaller session with some of the girls before I leave Ekiti where I will share the printed copies of my book on purpose to them.
I have been worried a bit on how to go about it all – funds and all as I have express orders from Baba that the book is for free (yes, that’s why the chastity for men book is free too).
But finally, I will do my part and let God do His.
I have everything that I need to walk in purpose.

I and Charity..

I and Charity..

I hope that you are all on track with what God has placed in your heart to do too.
This segment on the blog isn’t just for you to read but to read and be inspired to walk in your own path of purpose too.
It’s more than the job/money… if you don’t know what God has for you yet, get on your face and ask Him to show you.
You may not walk in it now but just walk with the consciousness that God has more as regards purpose on earth for you to do.
God has a plan for your life, be ready and consecrated to Him to walk in that plan – wherever and whatever He says you should do/go.

Till next time on awakening youths,
Stay walking in purpose,
Love,
Frances.

Hmm. Fulfillment comes when one realizes that they’re living a life of purpose.
Thank God for what you do! God bless you for giving of yourself to mentor young girls. I know your effort will not be in vain. Even if it’s just 1 girl that comes to the fullness of Christ through this, it will still glorify God.
Thanks for the reminder to find purpose dear. God bless you.
