Hi guys!
My name is Frances Oghenerukevwe Okoro.
I am from the Isoko tribe in Delta State, Nigeria (yes, we bear “Okoro” too).

I turned 23 in 2016 so let’s use that as our magic number shall we?
I will attempt to just detail some 23 things about me.
Ok, let’s begin…

And oh before we begin, if you’d rather watch me talk about myself/watch and read, you can watch the video on 23things about me below:

And for those who prefer to read(you actually should watch the video too, the words aren’t same with it), let’s begin…

(1) I am a sucker for God. A certified lover of Jesus.
The certificate isn’t a man-made one though, it’s in my heart… the heart He tugs on whenever it’s getting pulled in another direction.
I loooove God and it’s not like I have got my relationship with Him on fleek, but that’s part of the reason why I love Him. Even in times when I “misbehave”, He still calls unto my heart, above the noise.

He remains my anchor, lover, friend, husband. My God and my Lord.

(2) I am not a groupie.
Ok, you know those people who blend with others so quickly and start going everywhere together? Uhm, that’s not me.
If you see someone who walks alone/does her stuff alone, that’s probably me. I don’t roll with the crowd, but I just find the people I am meant to be friends with some way, somehow all the same.

Which brings me to my third point…
(3) I am blessed with destiny helpers all around me.

I and Queenie..

I and Queenie..

In as much as I am not a crowd person, somehow, God still gets people who help me on my life’s journey to me.

(4) I am an adventure/sight seeing junkie.
I looooove to visit new places and partake of the adrenaline rush that comes from climbing mountains and hills.

At Olumo Rock Ogun State

At Olumo Rock Ogun State

I love meeting awesome people when I go on my travels too.
Fears about who the stranger I just met on a hill doesn’t stop me.
Someday, my adventures will include seeing new places all over the world. Amen.

(5) And as part of my not being a groupie, I mostly always travel alone.
Yep, I am that girl who’ll pick up her bag and go out alone whether or not she has someone to tag along with her.

(6) This should have been first because it’s one of the first things you’d notice about me if you meet me…
I have crossed eyes. You know, half past eyes like Nigerians call it.

Spot the eyes here?

Spot the eyes here?

Those kind of eyes that look like they are looking elsewhere when they are looking at you?

(7) I am soooo fine with my crossed eyes, I don’t think that I’d want to change it for anything.
The name of my blog started up from my eyes, before God began to show me that it wasn’t just my eyes that’s imperfect, it was my life.
I also wrote about being Imperfectly perfect on Bella Naija here (you should totally read that).

(8) And speaking about writing, God’s given me the gift of writing…for Him.
Hence this blog and the books He has given me to write for Him.
I verily believe that all He has given to me is for Him. To bring Him glory.

(9) Oh yes, I am a lawyer by profession.
I know you’ll wonder why I didn’t say this at the beginning.
Well, it’s not really a big deal to me. I am more passionate about the Word of God than about being a lawyer.

November 2014, at my call..

November 2014, at my call to bar…

So I don’t know, I am still trying to ask God how this fits into my purpose in life.

(10) And speaking about “Purpose in life”, I believe that that’s the focus that drives me.

At a school I organized seminars on purpose and skill acquisition in 2015

At a school I organized seminars on purpose and skill acquisition in 2015

I seriously see no reason to live if I am not living forth God’s purposes for my life. Soooo, I am sold out, totally sold out to God using me for Himself. (I hope you are too).

(11) I am a bit of a disorganized somebody.
Uhm, I think I tend towards being a sanguine, so I am not a “well put together somebody at all”.
Let’s just leave it at that so I don’t expose myself totally.lol.

(12) I am so lazy at kitchen duties.
Erm, I am so lazy, I’d rather sleep hungry than light a match.
I know, I’m changing my ways little by little.

(13) I have an insane drive for craving meals.
Like seriously, I can trek at night just to look for bananas and only bananas will I eat (this has actually happened before).

(14) I know I am grown up, but I still cry when I am stressed. *covers face*
Or when I want a particular food and I have been dreaming about it all day and then, can’t eat it.
Talk about a big burst of bubble.

(15) Give me chocolate ice cream and I will love you forever!
Somehow, chocolate ice cream is my favorite though I haven’t had one in a loooong time.

(16) The reason why I haven’t had a chocolate ice cream in a long time is because I am on a weight loss journey.
Yep, I used to be fat, like really fat. Was 98kg when I started my weight loss journey. Now I am 76kg and still going on.

From 98kg to now...pow wow!

From 98kg to now…pow wow!

So don’t offer me junks when we meet and help a sister meet her weight loss goals.

(17) I looooooove to laugh!
Swoosh! Like I don’t think people should be all stuffed up in frowns.
Maybe I laugh a lot because I have a good dentition sha. Lol.

Joy in motion..

Joy in motion..

But seriously, I love to smile, laugh and be happy… after all, I have joy flowing in me and I chose to live it forth.

(18) I don’t know how to swim.
There’s a funny story in here. I was pushed into a pool when I was a “small girl” and I think the fear just made me swear off pools in my head.
I recently visited a swimming pool and got into a pool after some 15 years plus of being out of it and it was fun!

Hehe...small play play in the water

Hehe…small play play in the water

So maybe I would consider taking swimming classes soon… maybe.

(19) And speaking of “maybe(s)”, I am a bit of an indecisive somebody.
It takes me a lot of time to decide what I want to do.
My friends who know me can mimick me when I do this.
Like I would say “I don’t know if I should do this oh… I don’t know if I want to eat this… ohhh, do you think it’s good..?”
Down to meals, I can take forever to make up my mind if I am not craving anything at the moment.

(20) But then I am also a go-hard person on the things I do make up my mind on.

On top of Olumo rock..

On top of Olumo rock..

I am personally driven by goals. So if I set a goal, especially when I make it public, I usually achieve it while relying on a buck load of God’s grace of course!

(21) I can make goals and achieve them just to prove people wrong!
For example, when I was in Law School Lagos Campus, I used to exercise everyday.
I asked my roommates one day if I could jog to Lekki tollgate from Law School and they advised me not to do so.
Well, guess what?
Their advice to me not to do so actually spurred me on to do it.

One of those lekki toll gate jogging days..

One of those lekki toll gate jogging days..

I got there, even snapped pictures to show that yes, it can be done!
(22) My going all out with goals also works in reverse ways too though(tears).
I can be so bull headed and don’t listen to anyone else.
My dad used to call me stubborn.
But now I am all grown, and I make efforts to actually have a teachable spirit.
I’m getting there 🙂

(23) Have I gotten to the last number already??
So what do I write here?
Uhm, let me just talk about my family here.
I am the second child and first girl in a family of 5 children.

A day before we stepped into 2014, with two of my siblings..

A day before we stepped into 2014, with two of my siblings..

Let’s just say, my family is an imperfect home and it’s one of the reasons why God still blows my mind away.

My elder brother

My elder brother

The things He does are ama-mazing!
My dad and my mom were separated for about 14years but are now back together and God’s still working on them.

 Me and my mom

Me and my mom

Yep, if you are reading this and you think God is slow to answering your intercession for others, He is not.
Keep on keeping on with God dears.
He’s got you firmly in the centre of His palm.
(24) And in the light of what I just shared about my family, let me give you one extra stuff about me for the road…
I have a burning passion to see marriages and relationships being founded on God.
That’s the reason why Frances’s Love Letters exist on the blog.
So if you see a girl talking about God’s purposes for marriage to a teen/young ladies, that’s probably me.

And I done did it!
23things about me!
Maybe I will add one more for each year I add to my age huh?

I’ve got to run now…

And oh yes, you should follow me on twitter @FrancesOkoro

And instagram @frances_okoro
In as much as I am not a groupie, I loooove meeting new people.
So please, let’s relate via my social media links shared above.

And yes, you can do me a mail at okorofrances@gmail.com if you need to reach me 🙂
Till whenever I make changes to this list again,
