Chapter 12
Then red lips came calling…

Red lips was a guy I met online. By this time I had started blogging. He read my works and somehow got into my radar.  It was platonic at first till he started calling me and making jokes about me being the mother of his children. I thought it was cute.  I told my friends and they said he was a handsome guy… and was promptly nicknamed “red lips” by one of us.

This seemed like “it”. The guy was cute, seemed to love God and he was also interested in youth development – an area I believe is a big part of my calling.
I really thought this was “it”… finally!

We made plans to meet as he was based in Port-Harcourt but somehow the plans fell through. When he came into Lagos he couldn’t come to where I was.

I was still expectant. We continued chatting on BBM till one day I walked into a Wednesday service at Church and the entire story changed.

My Pastor, Nathaniel Bassey preached on “the will of God” that fateful day.
I remember praying and crying unto God to not make me go my own way. I asked God to enforce His will in every area of my life and He did.

He started with red lips.

When I got back to my Law School hostel after Wednesday prayers at Church all was well.

But by Friday of that same week, two days after my prayers, I and red lips had a silly fight over something and by the time I woke up on Sunday morning, he had deleted me from BBM, unfriended me from Facebook, and just about disappeared.

I knew it was a direct answer to the  prayer I prayed on Wednesday.

Thus continued my single season.

YOUR TURN:
1: Have you ever prayed the dangerous prayer asking God to enforce His will in every area of your life including your relationships?

2: Have you ever experienced a sudden breakdown in communication with a prospective bae; one that you knew could only be wrought by God?

3: Sometimes, disappointments in relationships and marriages  (ESPECIALLY IF THAT AREA OF YOUR LIFE HAS BEEN HANDED OVER TO GOD) is God’s way of saving you

4: I still pray the prayers on the will of God over my life today.
They will help you too:

“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;”
Colossians 1:9 NKJV

“Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.”
Colossians 4:12 NKJV
