Get It Done Right Now!

I’ve almost forgotten how hard it is to blast the fat.
It’s been so long since I’ve been on the game, I’ve forgotten how hard it is to even see a 1kg weight shift on the scale.

 

*looks around*
I’m sorry people, please pardon my manners, it comes with getting back on Shawn T’s cardio abs after some months away from it…

 

It’s hard work to do all his wicked exercises but before we go on, let’s start up properly on the blog shall we? 🙂

I don’t think that my new readers actually know that I am on weight loss journey…
You guys don’t know that right?
Yeah, I am sure that you don’t.
The weight loss part of me has been silent for a while now because I didn’t start out at the beginning of the year.
I could only start last week(at least small start up).
I’ve lost some 4kg since the beginning of the year though, but not through exercise.
I was on a fast but now, loosing the fat the right way begins!
Who’s excited like I am?

This means that we would once again see posts like A better way to lose the weight on the blog.
I had to stop writing about weight loss because I am not a hypocrite. Whatever I have to write about, I have to do it and do it I will.
I am thinking of making all the posts on weight loss out into a sub category under Monday’s Inspirational drive because this journey to get fit deserves a whole category on its own.

 

So just a little bit of recap for my new readers…
I started my weight loss journey in 2013, I weighed 98kg then.
I lost the weight and got down to 83kg in 2013.

I lost the weight again in 2014 while I was in Law School and went down to 74kg but gained it back because chop-chop at home after Law School.

I entered 2015 weighing 81kg and I currently weigh 77kg.
The goal is to get to 65kg by June 2015.

 
So just like we used to roll on here, what’s the lesson on weight loss for today? I must have a reason for my sharing too much information(TMI) on my current weight status this morning right?
Well, let’s get serious then…

 
I started exercising little by little last week and I got thinking about one of Mr Tobi’s post that I read on his blog.
He talked about changing our mind set as a great way to achieve our goals.
Basically, thinking about why we are doing what we are doing right now as a way to make sure that the future is better.(hope that makes sense?)
Eg, saving money now so that we won’t have to cry foul when we don’t have any money for the rainy day.
And I thought to myself, how does this apply to my weight loss goals?
Well, I have to get the weight right now so I won’t be all flabby when I am married/have given birth.

 

I started my weight loss journey in 2013 simply because I looked at the mirror one day and didn’t like the girl/woman that I saw.
My arms were LARGE!
Some Christian mother-ish arms I had then.
I looked like a pregnant woman and I was not even 30years old yet.
I had seen women who had given birth to kids who had flat tummies so why did my never-carried-a-child-tummy look like that of a 3month old pregnant woman.
I didn’t like it.
I didn’t like it at all.

 
So, as I skipped with the ropes last week and Mr Tobi’s words came to me, I thought of how I would be in the years to come, especially when I will be pregnant.
The only time I have to enjoy my flat belly is now!
Now!
And not when the kids start tumbling in.
And again, I thought of the fact that if I don’t get down to that 65kg right now, I will have to struggle with the weight for a long time to come.
If I can get down to 65kg now, at least, if I add weight when pregnant, there will be no way I would get to 100kg.
But letting myself go now will absolutely translate to my blowing up when pregnant.

 
Also, and more importantly, if I don’t get my eating and exercise habits right now, it would be super difficult to get it right later.
Having no self-control over food and no self-discipline to exercise isn’t a good habit.
It dawned on me…
The best time to get this right is NOW.
To help me safe guard the future and keep myself on track.

 

So the lesson for today goes to all of us who made goals to lose the weight this year.
Get it right now to safeguard the future.
February’s running already, March is oncoming…
Before you see, the year has ended…
Before you see, you don marry…
Before you see, you don get belle…
Before you see, you don born…
Before you see… You never got to get to your ideal weight before all the weight of a new baby added to the former weight…
Get it right now!

 

That’s my mantra for the remainder of the month.
When I have to exercise and it seems so hard, I will tell myself, the best time to enjoy the flat tommy is now so Frances, get it right now!

 

We will be seeing more of weight loss posts now that I am on a roll.
I must warn you though, my own weight loss stories and posts go with scriptures and God… You will be amazed as to how many scriptures there are in God’s word that can help us.
I know that this is true because I tried the motivational posts way and it didn’t work, only the Word worked.
We will explore all of this in subsequent posts 🙂

 

For now, I am forgetting the former things and I am starting afresh.

And of course this previous post always comes in handy for me(you can read it too if you are also on this kind of journey)
I’d also love to have a partner to go on challenges with as a way to keep myself accountable but it’s so hard to find someone, I just might have to go hard and go alone.

    Hello
    I totally get you
    I have always had a flat tummy
    When I looked into a picture a colleague of mine took of me, I looked like a woman who had 3 kids
    I deleted the picture and soon I was not eating any meals after 6 pm.
    I would be asleep on the bed and my stomach would be making noises but I look so much better now
    It is worth it.

      That’s actually a part of my challenge for this week, not eating anything after 7pm.

    I feel you, Frances. I know how not being happy with your weight can be a downer. And I have to add that being fit is a confidence booster [not totally, but it plays a part].

    Way to go girl! I am solidly behind you. Be assured that you have an e-work out buddy here. We must be fit together.

    Fit for Faith 🙂 God created us as whole persons and so we need to take care of our whole self, not just the individual parts. I believe there is a direct relationship between physical and spiritual health. A healthy body will give you the energy and enthusiasm to carry out the purposes that God has for your life. Practicing healthy living is a way to glorify God. God created your body to be built for action therefore activity is needed to keep you fit. His law in nature is to exercise, eat right, and serve God.

      It resounds with Heather lindsey’s reasons for keeping fit too.. we definitely can’t work at optimal level for God’s glory and purposes if our bodies aren’t in top shape..

    I have given up on trying to lose weight or but more dedicated to eating right, and taking care of how I look and if along the way, my tummy shrinks, yes yes yes I will love it. I can’t be bothered with weight loss but I applaud you for what you are trying to achieve. my new found self love includes every inch of fat, love handles and the little extra on the hips.
    But I will hold you accountable.

      Self-love with weight or not, I will write on it soon…
